Please HELP

I quit cold turkey 5 days ago after using oxycodone HCL 15mg for 3 years and before that lortab 10/500 for 6 1/2 yrs. I made it through the "flu" like stage and now I'm having troubles with feeling weak, dizzy, and faint like. Could anyone tell me when I can expect to feel normal again? In everything I've read about withdrawal symptoms, these are not listed. I have got or gone through everything on the lists I've read but this is freaking me out. I went to urgent care and I'm not dehydrated and my EKG is normal as was my glucose. Any advice to share?

Thank you Paige! I've read your posts and know what you're going through! Did you end up going to the pharmacy for the Fent or did you talk yourself out of it? I'd love to hear that you're ready to commit to stopping the addiction however, you're the only one who can make that decision and it can't be taken lightly. It requires total dedication and determination. I struggled with myself for what feels like too long until I decided to take the plunge. It's only been 6 days for me and I've surprised myself at how fast I'm progressing. I do hope you come to the same decision and get off the roller coaster ride you're currently on, when you do...I'll be here for you along with everyone else who have helped and continue to help me with my journey.

I made it through the entire work day! Yeay me! I know this may sound silly but it was something I really wanted to do for myself...to get through one whole work day without any recourse. I had a couple of spells where I felt a little weak and lightheaded as well as some anxiety issues but I pushed through it ALL and kept telling myself that my body NEEDS this (exercise, distraction and sheer determination! I'm sore as hell and wiped out so hopefully sleep will be easy to come by tonight! :) I had all of your supportive words with me throughout my day and they aided and assisted in my motivational pep talks with myself! Thank you for your help...TRULY! Xoxo

I'm on my lunch break at work and so far I've been able to push through a couple of dizzy spells! It feels so great to be able to get the exercise that I know helps release endorphins that my body so badly needs to get better! I'm taking it hour by hour in case the anxiety gets to be too much as well as the weakness and dizziness. Today I've got more strength than yesterday so one day at a time right?!

It is day 6 for me with my recovery....I decided to give work another go today. Please send me prayers of strength! I'm getting a little stronger everyday. I went to work Thursday and failed to make it through the day due to lack of strength, dizziness, and feeling faint so I left early and took the next day off too. I never gave in to temptation though! Thanks to those of you that have given me advice, wisdom, and strength! Xoxo

Congrats on 5 DAYS!!!  I was just like you in getting thru the symptoms that were more like the flu....and then entering a timeframe where I was dizzy EVERY time I got up; very weak; and I had super low blood pressure.
It was impossible for me to exercise or walk much during that phase as my b/p was running about 80/60 and I was freaking....I went to the dr eventually and checked out fine.....it was just part and parcel of the w/drawals for me.
I know you said you went to the ER and they said you were not dehydrated, but I still wonder how much water you are getting?  IMO, we need half the ounces of our body weight in water.....ESPECIALLY during our initial detox days....so if you say, weigh 140 lbs....you would need 70 oz of water.  It speeds things along.

Vitamin Water the "Revive" one.....(thank you Fourjays!) is REALLY good and helps get more water into you along with other essentials that truly do "revive" you lol.....electrolytes, potassium, B5, B6 and B12 and Vit C.
(Plus I read that 2000-3000 mg of Vit C (per day in divided doses) accelerates detoxification and lessens cravings)

You're doing great......we aren't given the burden of more than 24 hrs at a time.....yet we typically try to carry more than that....I figured if I used/abused pain meds for 5 yrs.....I should give myself an equally fair amount of time to heal and get my nervous system and brain pathways firing like they need to.

Bad flu..HA! Got to love these folks who've never been there. So proud of you for refusing the scrip! You are going to be fine. What you're experiencing is completely 'normal'. It's just a question of giving your body/mind some space away from the Oxys in order to heal. Hang in there. You're doing Great. We're here.

Hey get some thing called "Calm" it has the magnz, ds, cal, and some thing in it that help you relax and sleep..OK hang on..You will make it...

Thank you for all the info! I've read so many experts state that no one should go cold turkey when stopping Oxy's, but that wasn't until today. I should have done the research before but I was mentally ready to quit...so I marched into my pain management dr and told him not to fill my prescription. He was shocked and when I asked what to expect I was told a bad flu. Yeah right! It was a lot worse and on so much more! I still haven't slept but an hour here and there, so your post is very informative! Thank you birthday boy!
