Hi slick! You can do this. Here are some suggestions that will help when you have WDs.
Immodium, advil, tylenol, mag/cal supplement, heating pad if you have one, epsom salt in a bath, gatorade or apple juice.
Nothing takes the WDs away. These things will just help. Keep posting for help, advice and support. That will help you more than anything!
Good luck to you!

hey there slick and welcome!!! i have had the same problems as you for years and new to being clean (66 days). i have been getting clean only to return to them cause didnt do the proper work to stay off them. the first week is rough for the physicial part but you can get through it even though you feel like you wont. there is alot of information on this site to help get through it and many will come with advice. my problems was never getting through the physicial part it was always the mental, i thought if i just stopped taking the pills all would be good, but that was not the case for me at all. you need to look into aftercare (na/aa meeting, treatment, counseling, etc). anything that can help you work out why you like to numb out of life. it took me along time to see that side of recovery but glad i did cause it is saving my life. this site is fantasic with lots of good folks with good advice will come to help. hope this helps in some way and you will be in my prayers
HI slick welcome to the forum you came to a great place for help....you are not alone there are others here in your situation and others like myself in recovery...you just made one of the biggest steps you admitted you have a problem and want to do something about it..
there are 2 schools of thought out on quiting you can just jump off and white knuckle it
or you can begin to taper off a little at a time get to a lower dose then jump off...ether way you will eventually have to go thew withdrawals but they will be a bit milder on a lower dose...there was a time in my life I chased the pain pills like you...its no way to live
you have a son that needs you...your up to a dangerous amount with the tylonol in it
you have to stop..look up in the right hand side of the screen and go to the health pages ..look up the thomas recipe it has some stuff that will make this a bit eazer for you...keep reading the posts here it will help encourage you to take the next step
keep posting we are all here for you ...you can do this the withdrawals only last a few days and its a short time considering the rest of your life..good luck and God bless...Gnarly
