Pregnancy and Lortab?????

Hello there. I am currently 12wks pregnant and take lortabs for pain. I might also add that I've been on them for years now and had severe withdrawls (leg cramps, insomnia, unable to concentrate, horrible aches and pains, etc.). I need to know if this is going to harm my baby? I feel so horrible for taking the chance, but I found that I am UNABLE to quit. I would apprieciate any of your thoughts on what kind of risks this insues. Thanks for you time.

Omg,so many that don't take em or are not dependent have so many negative remarks...I've been on them since 95, I only take one a day, however sometimes I take a extra half although 4 yrs ago I took 1 every 3 days, that was with my fifth pregnancy my baby came out fine, now I'm taking the one and a half a day,and too had questions and concern with this being my sixth pregnancy, but me only providing for my large family need them to function through the day,I also have fibromyalgia...but every ob visit I stress to my doctor, are you sure it not gonna hurt the baby,he says Im positive, vie seen people taking 5-6 a day and their babies are fine! Oh and all the previous comments..oh the best one I liked, why she can't quit, her post states addicted, that means ur dependent on them..it's not like we can just quit it's hard,I've tried 3 times with no success! Look up the definition, please and educate urself on addiction!   Good luck,my girl, and I wish you and ur baby the best of luck!!

Hello, I want you to call your Dr., and get in asap.  Tell them what is going on.  If you are getting your scripts legally, then you really have done nothing wrong.  Even if you are buying them off of the street, you owe it to your baby to get off as soon as you can.
The baby will be better off WD while in utero.  I hve seen a baby getting off of herion.
It was the worst thing I have ever seeing any living thing go through.  He cried non-stop,
We were not allowed to touch other patients, but I could not take anymore.  I gowned up and held his pacifer for him so he could suck and sleep for the few minutes he was able.
I wish now that I had asked to rock him so he could perhaps sleep longer.  His mother came once in the month we were in the NICU.  When she did, I remember her being very happy and skippy.  I do not think she understood the hell the baby was going through.
Remember also the thousands perhaps millions of women who would love to be carring a baby.  Do the right thing...you know what it is.  Good luck and God bless!!!!

stop taking pain pills while u are pregnant. seriously.  the wd may not be good or fun....but, what is really not going to be fun is having a baby addicted to narcotics. and having child services barking up your tail. perhpas the police. period. and yes it is that simple.  wean yourself down/taper and stop doing them while you are pregnant.

depending on what  u take, your baby is fine, im sure. but, u dont know 150% so why take a chance.

plus, if the baby could talk to you right now he/she would tell you they dont want that **** in them.  you wouldnt put it in their formula after their born, would u? no. so dont do it now.

Of course it will harm your baby and I think you may have known that. However, You really NEED to talk to your OBGYN. Why are you unable to quit? You have to for you babys sake! There are other options other than going c/t if you cant handle that. (Which I couldnt either). So please explore your options.

Hello,
I am a recovering alcohol and pain pill addict.  My oppinion would be to go to your doctor and tell them everything.  You don't want to harm that baby and taking too many for too long, it could make the baby depended on the drug.  Then when he or she is born it could have withdrawals from not having the drug anymore.  I know how hard it is too quit but sometimes you have to do it for someone else then for yourself!!!!   The doctor might recommend to taper you off the drug or give something else.

I hope this helps
