I agree with the above.   You're pretty low on the totem pole of addiction, but codeine IS an opiate, and your body is used to a small amount every 24 hours.

You will have some withdrawals, but I expect they'd be mild and only last a few days.

Is this prescribed?  Does your doctor know you want to stop?

Hi Sheri61. Welcome to the forum.. 8 years is a long time to take anything, yes I believe you will have wd when you stop although I do not think they will be as intense as some. My hubby was taking 1 norco a day for a few years He had stopped with me 1 time while I was a wreck he was doing well a lil emotional trouble falling asleep but he managed to sleep and he felt restless but it all went away within a week.. I on the other hand took much more and took 8 days to sleep.. I think you will do Great just have a Positive attitude make sure to exercise our walk as that is a benefit for all the symptoms Drink plenty of fluids and eat a healthy meals. You may want to add a couple of bananas a day for a couple of days for the potassium and pickup some Epson salts for a warm bath this will help with muscle pain and sleep.. I wish you the very best. lesa
