Quitting loratab 10 -oxycodone 10

I have a rare form of muscular dystrophy ,diagnosed by mayo in 02/ 1989 in 2001 had a bad episode ( hospitalized for 10 days on water flush & dialysis ) ruptured leg muscles sludged my kidneys . That was my beginning of loratab dependance ,started out on 5-500 ,2 ea a day on to 4 ea a day, then came the 10s ,1/2 ,8 times a day ,then a whole 10 3-4 times a day --app 2 yrs ago , then add oxycodone 10s as needed with the 10 loratabs ,that was in feb this year     App 2 mos ago my leggs turned to jello was also on blood pressure meds ,chylostorol , meds, my md doctor ordered me off the bp & col meds ,got better in 3 days --was brand new --2 weeks later happened again --wants me to stop the pain meds now !!!!    Its been 16 days now  i went cold turkey the 1st 4 days --no problems, then came the restless leg  @ night ( have this problem anyway with the Mcardles ) so when i couldn't stand it any more i cut a oxycodone 10 in 4 pieces ( tiny but worked ) take at night for restless leg , QUESTION IS AM I PROLONGING QUITTING BY DOING THIS  ???????????

I would think it would lessen the severity of the withdrawals but your just extending it.  Pull off that band aid.  You can do this.

Hi & Welcome,

I am sorry no one saw your post. It is a holiday weekend, as you know, and it is quiet.

Anyway, you surely have a lot going on and should really stick by your doctor while he gets you straightened out.

Whether you are taking ten mg or 2 mg, the opiate is till in your system and it is preventing the rls from rearing it's ugly head right now. Because you basically tapered down, it may be as severe when you quit.

Have you informed your doctor that you are still taking the pain meds?
