My last rehab was at Albany Medical Center in Albany N.Y I was in for alcohol. It worked for booze. I later got a hydro habit for 8 years. Oxy from others during run out time. I used this forum and meetings this time. I dont know how to check quality of rehabs. I think the most important thing is HOW BAD YOU want it. We can't blame poor quality rehab or this that or the others did wrong song. Call N.A in your area and see if a person can come talk to you at home or get to a meeting. You will have to leave your home to go to a rehab anyway.
Have you ever heard of Hampton Hospital in Mt. Holly, NJ.....I was there there was a guy taking what you did or more of xanax....when I left he still had not slept for about 30 or more days....it was long ago and i don't quite remember....but, it was a good hospital...it's a psych hosp so I had to lie and say i wanted to commit suicide to get in....but it was worth it and not too far from the truth...they keep you quite comfortable with meds and give you psych help....look into them and also get on the internet and look around, there are also phone numbers that offer counseling and help. Like I said I just don't think it's necessary to go that far unless you want to....maybe a vacation? LOL
geno,
as you know you are going to have to go it a medical type rehab you are on such a high dose of xanax they are going to have to be able to watch over you 24 hours a day . I am sure the places that have turned you down dont have the medical requirements you need.there is a dr heather Ashton I will give her your link I would start trying a VERY VERY slow taper of the xanax .get out her site keep looking for a rehab .

I have been to treatment in several states.....good ones. I am not proud of myself for having to go to treatment so many times, but it is what it is. I'm clean now! My point? If you are REALLY ready to stop, any detox center can help you. If you are NOT ready, then the best in the country can't help you! I have been to ones in Atlanta, GA and Wickenburg, AZ that are both very good. The one in GA is a 12 week program and AZ is 30 days I believe. It's been awhile. Anyway, I ended up getting clean for the last time on my own. If you are taking that much xanax then in my opinion you need to be in an inpatient detox. You could die if you go CT or run out of it. Please go to the doctor or a hospital ER, and tell them what's going on so that you can get some help!
You are worth it!!!
Best wishes!!!

do you have ins? If you do, I would go to the local hospital ER, many of them have programs to get you in good rehabs....I lived in NJ for most of my life and from what I heard there are a few good ones in pa and nj in that general area...but the hospital alot of times have detox there where they usually give you sub for 3 to 5 days and then try to get you into a rehab....or maybe they could get you into a detox right away....but it helps alot when you have med ins. I wouldn't go across country to detox, i just don't feel it's necessary....but that's just my opinion. good luck!
