SUBMOXEN

I have a friend that was on lorset 10/650. He decided to go to a Dr. and try the submoxen. I have read alot on this stuff and frankly I think he was better off with the lorset than to try that stuff. I read that submoxen is 50 times stronger than morphine and after a while you have to have it just to get out of bed. Can anyone tell me about this stuff?

Im on day 11 without sub after I was on for 16 weeks, I started at 8mgs and got down to a half of a mg, .5 mg, this has been the hardest set of withdrawals Ive encountered. I didnt get to this site in time for me to set out my own schedule of usage. If I had I would have love to have the advice above that I believe everyone who is thinking about taking sub should be made aware of. Its very decieving and in my opinion completely marketed incorrectly to hopefull addicts. Thats not to say it doesnt work, its just that it should be used more as a last resort method. Do your homework, I wish you all the best, the good news is this forum can assist you in your recovery. Tons of excellent people and opinions to help those who have important questions that need answered by the people who have first hand experience. Again good luck, take care.

I completely agree with eagle and oc.  Unfortunately too many of us learned the hard way that suboxone is not the easy way out.  It is promised to be a painless way to get off opiates and for most of us that was the opposite of the truth.  There are some people who have had good experiences with a short suboxone treatment plan - 21 days- and it was not so hard for them.  However for most of us kicking suboxone was much much much harder than our drug of choice.  I cannot stress enough the advice to give your friend is to not use suboxone at all for lorcet -- but if he has to, use it quickly and get off it quickly.  Many doctors are recommending a long term sub plan and I would caution him against that.  Unfortunately there is no easy way out when it comes to opiate addiction.. withdrawal cannot be avoided, even with suboxone.  Best of luck to you and your friend.

Eagle is right.  To take Suboxone to get off of Lorcet is like using an atomic bomb when you only need a hand grenade.   Suboxone is a very powerful narcotic, much stronger than most people realize and also very addictive and extremely hard to come off of.  I was on it for only 21 days and suffered horribly for 2 months.  It is a deceptive drug and the addict (victim) doesn't know what he/she is in for until they try to quit taking Sub.  All the best.

Sounds like you already know about it.............check the archives via search engine and you will learn more than you care to know....sub has its place in the order of things....but many get too involved with it without enough knowledge.....it can present a greater problem than the narcotic you are trying to detox from if you arent careful...........there is no painless way to get this done............advice would be to not use sub longer than 21 days.....and that is even controversial................good luck
