SUBOXONE

I was wondering if its possible to use SUBOXONE  for a week or two at the most to get of hydrocone addiction. Would I suffer WD from the SUBOXONE? What's the most I could take to prevent wd's from the SUBOXONE. It makes since to me but maybe it's just wishful thinking? Please advise because I'm so tired of living like this!

I would personally recommend trying to taper off the hydrocodone before considering Sub.  While some people have had success with a very brief sub course, it's not the optimal way to use it, as the adjustment period alone from the full agonist opiates to the partial agonist sub can easily take 2 weeks.

Have you tried getting clean before?  If so, when, and what did you try?  While I've seen Sub help people, whenever possible, I would recommend people try other methods first.

Best of luck!

Yes, it can be done, but personally I think it's a mistake to go on a much stronger drug, like Suboxone or Methadone,  to avoid the withdrawal symptoms of a much weaker drug like Hydrocodone, thinking it's an easy way out.

IMO if you do it should be only be a low dose for a very brief period, long enough to get over the worst part of Hydrocodone withdrawals, and short a time enough to prevent you becoming addicted to Sub. Then stop the Sub and deal with the tail end of Hydrocodone withdrawals. You'll still feel kind of crappy from the Hydrocodone, and partly due to having the Sub leaving your system, but nothing in life is free.

The one thing you do not want to do is stay on Suboxone long enough to become addicted to it. If you're tried coming off Hydrocodone and the withdrawals are too much for you to stand, you'll be in for much worse if you have to go CT off Suboxone, and not everybody can work a taper successfully. I would not stay on it for a full week, much less two. That's too long IMO.

That said, I was on Suboxone a total of 4 years and tapered myself off with no trouble at all over a period of a few months. It gave me time to get my life straight and my mind right and was a very good thing for me. I'm on my 15th day since I finished my taper and feeling great. It can be a lifesaver in the real sense if used correctly, but is not a magic pill.

Most people don't know what they're getting into when they start on Suboxone, trade up in their addiction, then rant and rave about how evil Sub doctors are and how Suboxone is Hell sent, when in reality they have nobody to blame but themselves. .

Don't become one of them and just be aware what you're getting yourself into.
