Shot up meth shot from yesterday with some coagulated blood

My boyfriend shot up a shot he tried to do last night that just wasn't going to happen due to the vein not pulling back.. when he took it out blood filled up a little and he put it aside and just smoked instead. A couple hours ago he got the old shot with a little bit of blood in it and it was still liquid but at the end had a little bit of coagulated blood in it so he added water and then shot it up. As soon as he was done and removed the neele, he got really red and raised bumps at the injection site. A couple minutes later he started to have pain up and down his arm and now about an hour later he is complaining of his shoulder blades hurting and the arm/shoulder is very tight as well as his hand and fingers are tingly and his hand/fingers/arm are very cold to the touch and having arm/shoulder pain. Does anyone know what is wrong and or if it is serious?! We have been searching tons of forums and Google to see if anything comes up but so far nothing so I'm needing some help with this question. Please let me know asap and don't be a ****. Serious helpful non judgemental answers needed, he already knows it was a stupid idea. Thanks!
