Should i be on subutex?

I have a habit of taking Norcos(10/325) usually 8-10 at once a couple times a day for the past 10 months. I have tried stopping cold turkey about 5 times and the longest I got was about 4 days then relapsed. I've spent Thousands of dollars and have prob taken thousands of pills. This is destroying my relationship with my gf as well as isolating me from my family. I went to the doctor and he gave me 14- 2mg pills of subutex and said take a half every two hours, should I be takin this or is it just gonna get me hooked on subutex?? And make those withdrawls worse?? I've been taking it two days so far and took 6mg yesterday and 3mg so far today any suggestions would be helpful. I think the doc is gonna get me hooked so he can make more $$$ not sure but I need opinions

First off, I would be happy to check the place out but they could say anything on the website. Your experience speaks for itself..I don't have to check it out. Something is not right. I don't like to blame doctors because ultimately we do what we do of our own free will so I am glad to see that YOU recognize something is wrong.

Talk with your doctor and get that appointment. He is more than likely not certified to prescribe Subutex but he can at least refer you. And if not, go to Suboxone . com and you will find a place on their site to find a doctor.

And please hun...I cannot stress this enough----please be certain that you engage in some form of aftercare.

Let us know how you make out. Since it is the weekend relax as much as you can and stay on the dose you are at.

I have researched the subutex that is why I went to the Doctors office. Believe me I was expecting something totally different. The place is called Soft Landing Recovery their website is Softlandingrecovery.com Could you check it out if you get a chance I would appreciate it. This is not my Primary care Dr. I couldn't get an appt. Wth my Dr. till nxt week and I didn't wanna buy anymore pills that's why I went to this place hoping it was a legit place. It seemed like it when I got there until I was only with the Dr. About 10mins and he had already givin me a prescription for the subutex and said he had a conference call so he had to hurry. That's not right he didn't even know me or barely anything about me. But I needed somethin so bad I didn't even think about it till I got home. I talked to a counsler for about 15mins and she pretty much said I can call her Tuesday or thursdays and didn't even let me express my feelings or concerns, then she said when did the doctor want you to come back, I was like I don't know he didn't say. Then the receptionist said the same thing and I was like I don't know so she said well how bout a week or so not go and ask the doctor.
I think I'm gonna call my primary care DR and ask for an emergency appt. Do you agree?

Did you do any research on Subutex? At all?

First off, I do not understand the plan the doctor has you on. Take a half every two hours? that is insane. Subutex has a long half life and with that schedule you will reach the ceiling effect by the morning of day 2. Did he not use a chart when figuring your dose?

Subutex/Suboxone is a program...not just a pill. It is a means to help you to get some clean time under your belt. It should always be done along with counseling and outside support.

Yes, you will have withdrawal depending on how long you stay on it. And there is the trick especially since you are not under a doctor's supervision apparently.

Just a suggestion, but I think you should call your doctor and tell him/her that you want to speak with him. Tell them you want a set plan and want to know your goals, etc.

As you have described, you are on your own taking a drug that you know nothing about. THAT alone is dangerous. Please get educated.
