Sleep and Anxiety day 13!!!!!!!

I can't sleep!!!  I take just about everything under the sun and over the counter to try to sleep, but my anxiety is so bad.  My body feels tired, but my head feels wide awake!

Does this ever go away?

If you are taking everything under the sun along with OTC stuff you are just confusing your brain even more.  I know that lack of sleep is a real b!tch but you have to let your body and brain catch up to each other.  The sleep will come back naturally.  Laurel gave you some good advice with the exercises.

Hi... please, stick to one thread cause it is really hard following you ...

are you doing relaxing exercises, have you tried CBT ( cognitive behavioural therapy ) to help you with anxiety ? mine started to get much better ( and i mean "much better" ) through therapy....meditation also was very good for me, spending some time daily just relaxing with a blank mind is really good.... a hot bath, sleepy tea time, deep breathing exercises and some reading before going to bed as Innerstrength has told you ... is a really good habit for us, anxiety sufferers ;)

Yes, it will get better. Everyones body is so different and for whatever reason your dealing with the insomnia. Have you tried melatonin, hot bath, sleepy time tea, deep breathing and reading all before you go to bed?
