3rd day at 4mg of metadone & it su##s

why is day 3 so dam hard,ive been going off methadone for 8 mo now 2 mg at a time with a 72hr to a week between
drops since I hit 7mg its been 3 days of withdrawals with the 3rd always being the "mind screw" no sleep has been a problem only getting like 3hr of restless sleep a night  angzity  has been a bit munch and the feeling of absolutely
no energy all day is miserable toward the evening i get kida hyper and talk my wife's  ear off about how im feeling
its like an abesstion... i did get to doctor today and he wrote me a script for risteril  to help with sleep dont know if
it works yet but got at least some hope now ....im giving myself 26 more days til i jump at 1mg but these withdrawals are a monster to manage at times.....anny help would be appreciated......your friend and fellow addict  Gnarly

hey girlee I got feed up with the doc"s and clinices  along time ago so i started
my own taper from home my clinic was giving me 40mg a day so i started tapering
and have been saving the rest so i have pleanty on hand to finish this thing off
I am looking forward to the day I can flush it (about 25 days from now) ill be down to
1 mg by then (hopefuly) as for your prayers there greatly appreciated im a born again
christian and god has been huge in getting off this stuff when it seamed hopeless
and it has many times (coming off 150mg) god has been there to get me by, I to dont
want to push my beliefs on annyone so i usuly keep it out of my posting but since you brought it up i guess people should know thank you for all your suport and responding to my post your freind and fellow addict Gnarly...BTW you still on methadone or have you beet the 800lb gorrila???

I am so happy things are working. I know many do not believe but i am keeping you n my prayers. Not trying to push my own beliefs on anyone Just my way of passing on help :0)

Have you tried just telling them to do a blind dose on you now?
I know that helped me the one time after I got to 10 i no longer wanted to know  It really did help me.

I applaud your doing this with back pain
These past two days my back has been wose and now thepain is in my hips and shoulders as well
It is no longer being as controlled as before and i am at a loss. Thinking of going bac to Docs and see what is next to try.


Oh and the whole Disability thing i fought for 7 long years before i finally got it.
So do not give up

and to phoenixrizen  ya this stuff is a grind to get off of but im really determined
im hoping my back holds together thats the reason i went on it in the first place
the script the doc gave me yesterday worked!!! WOOHOOO I finely got a nights sleep
my body seams to be adjusting to 4 mg now i dident  wake up totaly miserable
feel rested today took my dose and actually fell calm WOW first time all week
well if all goes well its down to 3mg on mon morning ,now i dread the drops...it like
a" mini" withdrawal  each time its been taking 4 to 5 days to stabilize each time
not shure if it wouldent just be EZer to just jump and go threw it and get it over with
but for right now the taper is tuff but working so taper i will do for now at least

Its hard coming off methadone I got down to finally being off after 15 years I went through literally no sleep , not really for over 6 months u have to stay active its hard because u feel lethargic but u have to fight that ...unfortunately i am back on like 5 to 10 mg s daily but want to be off it soon .
I don't thin with the stuff I have been through that I am ready its hard when you have to be at work .. and I really have no break at work they break all labor laws but i need the job bad .. so I still am in the struggle i think u can do this  if ur not working at the moment  get out  walk keep busy ... even when ut feeling like you can't do it .. I know you can .. but are you ready ?

I agree at the end you may find it is too much and you may have to go back up a couple milligrams and let that stable you than start back down
I had to do that when I was coming off.

Although i ended up coming off doing great and ended up right back on pain meds for  back injury and now back on methadone so that i do not have to take Oxys
who would have thought i would fight that battle only to turn around and NEED the methadone LOL

Just remember it will take a while to get back into the normal sleep normal you place.
It  took me like 3 weeks to get back to ME and being able to sleep i took vitamins and worked out a bit with walking my dog and trying to stay active mentally.

Good Luck you came this far you can do it i have a friend who got off not long ago he was on 125 mg's for over 14 years.
Proof you can get off and be normal Just takes the will and desire.

dude i got trasadone 100mg and zanex 1mg but neather seam to do annthing
its just every time i taper its like no sleep witch is giving me the axzity and
just being totally drained  im hoping this new stuff works I only asked the doc for
enough to make it thew the withdrawals he gave me a scrip for 20 with 2 refils
dont plan on using it past the first month off, my goal is to be methadone free
in 26 days if my body will allow when i feel better i move it down 1mg
usually aprox 4to5 days is that to fast ??

Gnarly, I know that you're anxious to get off the Methadone...but, you may want to take it slow here at the end. Low and slow is best. Be careful with the Restoril. It's a benzo and had addictive properties. In fact, I took it and preferred it to Xanax. You may want to ask for something nonaddictive like Trazadone.
