Suboxone drop...

I know there are heaps of people asking about tapering and everyone reacts differently etc...

Ok I've been on 4mg of Suboxone for one month now (reduced from 6mg) feeling pretty stable. I want to keep reducing as i have been saying...and want to attempt to be off them by the end of this year.

I spoke to my pharmacist and she recommended that i should perhaps jump to 3mg instead of going down to 2mg...because I'm on such a low dose she said i obviously will notice the difference.

So what do people think? should i drop from 4mg to 3mg OR from 4mg to 2mg.  Does anyone think it will make a whole lot of difference in their experience?

Hi~  I think the slower the better!  It just seems prudent to drop by 1mg at this stage. Se how you feel. That's the best way. It's different for everyone.

My doctor said spend a month on 4mg and see how you go. I'm now on my fifth week of it and feel that i can drop again. He said drop to 2mg. He seems to think i can handle it. Though as i said in my post above the pharmacy i goto said if i drop by 1mg it might be less noticeable...so i just thought i would get your opinions/personal experiences. My doctor and pharmacist do say that it is up to me when i decide to drop again because i'm the one who know's how they feel... so hmmm lol

Hmmm. I can only advise you as to what I am going through now. After 70 days on subs I am having horrible wds. I tapered all the way down to a 1/4 of a 2mg pill. That's a half of a half. Tiny little crumbs. However, I am on day 2 with no subs....guess what I am in full blown wds. The runs, nauseous, aches, and chills. My boyfriend used subs for 5 days in a detox just through the worst and jumped off and suffered MILD wds. My advice is OFF ASAP. I promise a few months from now you will have the same symptoms as now. The only reason to stay on it is if you still have cravings. As the subs will not allow you to get high from opiates for at least 3 days of it staying on the receptors.

I hope this helps....any questions feel free to ask.

Best of luck and a healing hug!

even when you are down to a crumb of a 8mg pill, it will still hurt. If you want to taper to off completely, it will take a year or two. I jumped ship after 1 prescription, made it last 3 times longer then prescribed and still got addicted. I HURT for 2 weeks. but it will end..I PROMISE
