am i smelling coke?

My Ex wants to work things out for our daughters sake, shes one, but the last two times he has kissed me, there is a fowl like sour taste and smell to his breath and stuff. I dont want to freak out, but is that what im smelling and tasting? should i be concerned for your daughter when shes with him?

no, no history. i know some of his friends and family are into that stuff. and he always said that he was scared of it knowing and seeing what it has done to them, but with everything that has gone on in the last year with me leaving him with our daughter and just serving him court papers and everything, im just not sure if he would cave and give in to that stuff.. im rather worried about it, i confronted him about if he was smoking cigarettes again, he said no, but i know what an ashtray tastes like. i used to smoke too, but this was just very different taste that ive never known.

Cocaine is known for its undescribable and singular smell, almost like burnt chocolate cake - a smell that once you know it, you never forget it, and you know what it is immediately if you smell it again.  Does your ex have a history of drug use?  Maybe not coke, maybe something else?  Maybe he is on a new diet that gives him strange breath?  I think if I were you, I would start being unpredictable with him - go to work at 8, don't say you really start at 9, then show back up at home at 8:30 because you forgot your phone (right on the coffee table where you left it (on purpose).  Look for signs of nervousness when you do this.  Show up without warning when he is with your daughter, and don't be consistent about it, be random.  This is the best way to see if he is being a good daddy, or if he behaves like he has something to hide.  I honestly hope he's behaving well, and just has a simple case of bad breath. - Blu

Have you any other reasons to suspect your ex of coke use than bad breath?

If so, can you tell us a little about it? Does he (or do you both) have a history?
