Read the suboxone/subutex FAQs at the bottom of this page. There is a lot of great info and taper schedules. It's great that you where on such a low dose, but consider that 1mg sub is approx. equal to 30-40mg of morphine. The lower you taper the better. Withdrawal seems to vary a lot with subs. I know a guy who was on 2mg for a couple years and tapered very slowly and had almost no symptoms. The schedule I mentioned can be stretched out over more time. The main thing is, relax. Don't let yourself get overwhelmed with anticipation and anxiety. I feel that is a huge determining factor on the severity of the detox symptoms. It shouldn't be nearly as bad as other opiate withdrawal, but could take longer. Subs are a partial agonist, so part of your brain chemistry healed while you where taking it. Do you have an aftercare program in place, AA/NA, counseling, church, or anything to support you when the subs are gone? You will be fine, just don't get in a hurry and relax as much as you can.

By the way, you posted on a thread from 2011, you may want to start a post for yourself. Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi I have been on subutex for over a year now I've been on about 1 mg a day I was wondering if anyone had any info in the withdrawls should I taper down to a lower dose before just stopping, does anyone know what the withdrawl will be like on such a low dose I've heard subutex withdrawls aren't that bad no where near opiate withdrawls it's time I quit but I'm so afraid of the withdrawls I wish there was some way that I didn't have to withdrawl or just have mild ones if anyone knows ways to help w the withdrawls or info on how bad and long they last help pls!

I was on subs for 2 years. You will experience withdrawals that are terrible and last a long time. Ct is doable but you are a high dose. I jumped off at 2 mg. I'd recommend tapering because you are at a high risk of relapsing on your original drug of choice. It is up to you but that is what I think. Please feel free to message me. I have a lot to say about sub and can answer questions if you want my take on it after being on it and researching more than necessary. But, hey that's just how I am.
