I was on hydrocodeine for severe fibromyalgia and started taking too much and the neurologist put me on 8mg subutex for 2 weeks until I had to see him again. I upped my own dose, because I tried desperately to contact him and was in severe pain. Finally I was on 32 mg. Obviously he said it is way too much and reduced it to 16mg in a weeks time. I must see him tomorrow again. I feel so anxious all the time and just want to take anything to make me feel better. Can Tramadol be taken with Subutex?

if you go to my profile, i have a lot of information on suboxone and subutex, where to get a hold of doctors that prescribe it and other links to learn about it, which i always have to suggest learning all you can before you take it, i am assuming you want it to help with an addiction, right?

does he want you to stay on it for your pain, or will he give you something else?  its been used for short term or long term for addiction, there are pros and cons to both sides of the debate and long term for pain also. talk to your doctor about this, especially if your really wanting pain releif...is it constant pain...or does it come and go with the flares of fibro?  i too have fibromyalgia...and i am taking suboxone, it does seem to give me some relief when i have a fibro flare...but not enough...and my fibro is NOT severe  ALL the time...thankfully.  if you have any question...just put up a post...someone should be able to help you with your questions...good luck hun...

If I were you I'd go into the hospital for the 5 days and then the physical will just be a faded memory. Otherwise you can get worste i'm 2 weeks later still having w/d's from subutex that I self medicated with for 3 months and before I quit I was probably down to .5mg's for at least a week and am still feeling some w/ds. Go and get it over with so you can move on.

It is used to detox from opiates. that includes tapering off of it.. or doing it in a 5 day detox.in the hospital. staying on it for months you will still be on an opiate.. and it sounds like you doc wants to get you off opiates.

I used it to get off hydro. I took it for 10 days tapering down and then off.. I have been off pain meds for over 4 months now.

He want to put me in hospital for 5 days from monday to stop me from taking it again. He said then I would be recovered. Why just not keep me on a lower dose for a few months. I had a opiod addiction when I was younger and he knows about it. Is that not what subutex is supposed to help with?

No Tramadol cannot be taken with Sub, no opiates can be taken with Subutex you will see your doc tommorrow.. he will tell you what to do, tell him how you are feeling.
