Tenex for vicodin withdrawls?

I saw my psychatrist (sp?) today and told him everything about my addiction. I was on Vicodin 7.5 for over a year. Today is day 3 (again) for me clean, because I relapsed after being clean for 19 days. Anyway, back to my question. He gave me a script for tenex and said it would help with my blood pressure, sleep and overall mood.  I want to see if anyone has ever tried it for this particular drug withdrawl. Is it addicting and will it help me?

Thanks for your response. I am glad to know that it's not addicting first of all, and second I'm just going to say a prayer and hope it works! I will let you know.

Tenex is an old hypertension (blood pressure) medication.  The way it works is to suppress adrendaline production.  I've never heard of it being used for withdrawal, but it makes sense.  Anxiety and high bp are all symptoms, and tenex will take care of the anxiety-related adrenaline bursts and associated rise in blood pressure.  And no, tenex is not addicting.
