Clean since Dec. 30

Hey everyone!

I got on the suboxone program after popping pills for 5 years or so.  It's the best thing I could have done!  I've got my life back, I can play with my kids again, I can work all week, etc.  I'm sure y'all have heard it befor.  I'm just wondering how many of you have tapered all the way off of the suboxone.  I wen't from taking 200mg of methadone or 200-300mg or morphine a day, to just 8mg once a day of the suboxone.  Just want to be off of ANY opiates, but don't want to try befor my body is ready.  Anybody who is considering getting of suboxone, DO IT!!!  It's so nice to not have that little voice in your head asking you were the next pills are going to come from, not to mention the hellish withdrawls.  Anywho, thanks for your time.

I'm going to counseling too.  Had to in order to get on the program.  I don't feel like the counceling is helping much, though.  I was already way, way ready to get back to a normal life.  My councelor says I'm doing better than many other people he knows on the program, as far as my attitude goes.  I'm only taking half of what I'm perscribed so a months worth lasts me two.  I'm just glad to be going on 2 months and haven't even come close to relapse.  That's not to say that the temptation won't come back, but the suboxone seems to help a lot. hi rick, glad to see you found something to help you.  are you in counselling or going to na/aa meetings?  it is very important that you follow through with some after care...the getting clean is the easy part...its staying cleaan that takes real commitment.  in the health pages on the right of this page you will find a thread that gives our memebrs experiences with taking sub and getting off it.  good luck to you.
