Methadone Abuse ? when do ppl realize they need to stop??

My husband has been addicted to numerous things thru out our marriage.  The last several years it was Oxy's and he was really bad.  We lost just about everything , our business, money and almost our house over it.  He got treatment and I thought he was sober but now I find out that he is abusing his Methadone and he has been snorting it...I guess I am pretty stupid or easy to con.  He lies to me about **** and I noticed he has been taking money out of our account again.  I don't know if Methadone is easy to find or how much it cost?   I am thinking he is getting something from the streets and running out of his monthly prescription early.  Do you get a buzz from Methadone? What kind of Buzz?  When do u fell like when your crashing.  I know that he will lay in the bedroom for hours on end-he's tired or not feeling well....and I am thinking he is out of his supply. When do ppl realize enough is enough and decided to stop abusing stuff....I am wondering if he will ever be clean.  I know he has a very addicting personality but I sick of all the **** he has put me and our kids thru and I am wondering if he will ever be straight or if he will always be addicted to something.  What are the signs I should be looking for?

An addict will get clean only when they're ready, and even then it's extremely hard. Protect yourself, your kids and your money. Do all you can to help him and understand the hell he's going thru, but if he goes down, don't let him drag you and your kids with him. Some how don't let him have access to all the money. This is a very hard situation and you may have some hard dicisions to make. Get to a narc-anon meeting.
Good luck.

Plz check out a nar anon or narc anon meeting. These are meetings for people in your exact situation,,, spouses and loved ones of addicts. Your husband wont get better till HE decides to get better. Its possible that seeing you seek help will motivate him. You guys have a road ahead of you like we all do but the hole stops gettin deeper when he stops diggin. Find meetings, stay on the forum and TALK,,support is what you need,,gl

I don't know where you live but I live in Pittsburgh and "street methodone" is readily available, and people pay alot of money for it.Yes,you can get a 'buzz' from methodone.I've seen people 'nod off' much like someone who is abusing heroin, slurred speech, lose track of thought mid-sentence ect.... When you are 'crashing',you become extremely ill, anxious, nervous, painful and restless arms and legs,NO energy, not able to sleep or eat, constantly running to the bathroom, runny nose, sneezing.Enough is enough when he is sick and tired of being sick and tired.
I tried to go through your post and answer all the questions you have listed.Methodone is an evil drug, very addicting, and a horrific detox.I just bumped a post up by sadinmichigan that she wrote about methodone. There are many others who have shared their experiences about methodone as well, including myself. You should read it.I think it's very informative and will help to educate you on what you are dealing with in regards to your husbands current situation.I wish you all the best.I will keep you and your family in my prayers.Peace.
