yes it is.
Effective August 18, 2014, tramadol will be classified as a Schedule IV drug, according to a rule recently published by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).
Tramadol is now actually a schedule 4 controlled substance, Hydrocodone combination products were just recently changed from a sch 3 to 2.
But that does diminish the fact that it's a very nasty drug, with horrible withdrawals.
My understanding is the Tramadol is currently a controlled substance on the same schedule as Vicoden, Norco, etc. Probably because so many have become addicted to it, and yes I understand the withdrawals are long and horrid.
From what I have read you are right!!! My Doc tried a few times to put me on it but I always refused (cause I wanted the buzz). Now I am so glad that I refused after reading about the withdrawals from it!!! Those crazy Doctors!!! Its good you are pissed! Will help you not take another one!!! Keep hanging in there!!!
I agree with you 100%. Detoxing from tramadol was horrific to say the least. Like TS said, don't let a dr tell ya different.
