Thank you vicki595 and dominosarah.....
I actually SLEPT last night ....PRAISE THE LORD!!!, I had a consult yesterday with a compound pharmacist regarding the steps I can take to keep my migraines at bay...started bio-identicals.
She recommended L-Theanine for sleep....one at 6pm and the other at 9pm...it is said to promote relaxation and stress reduction. It must have worked, because I actually did get "restful" sleep. Thank you so much for everyone's kind words. Energy is still down domino, and I have been walking until literal exhaustion..drinking water until I think I will explode (and cranberry juice to flush my system) and MANY MANY baths. I had no idea tonic water had quinine and I will be trying it tonite...though last evening it really didn't to be near as intense as days prior. I will have everyone in my prayers as I would wish this on no one, but IF you do have to Cold Turkey....at this point, I can honestly say it can be done with MUCH willpower...also, ADD PROTEIN to repair the damage the tramadol has done to your brain.
Congrats on 10 days!!! The worst of it should be over. Usually sleep an energy are the last to come back. Keep hanging in there. Keep us posted on how you are doing.......sara
You can get Tonic Water anywhere..grocery store etc... it's a common "mixer" like club soda. Tonic water has quinine in it which helps thise crazy legs. Mix it with juice;not everyone likes the taste.
It may take a few weeks to feel back to normal...it can be a long process but everyday gets a little better. Be sure you're drinking and eating well, take vitamins and get some exercise. It's too bad you had to do this without tapering down. :(
where do I purchase tonic w/quinine?
And to ALL who have responded to my post......I am now at day ten....the restlessness is getting a bit less, Sleeping w/the assist of Unisom, Valerian Root and Benadryl. (Melatonian produces migraines for some reason). I am also LIVING with an MP3 player in my ear (this seems to really help for some reason)..I have NO CHOICE but to get through this.
Generic Ultram will still cost approx. $130/mo (my dosage was 400mg/twice per day.
How far out do I have to get before I will feel back to normal with no residuals in my body? I have A VERY STRONG MIND, and WILL get through the psychological hold of this drug...just need to get through the physical hold (WHICH IS SOMETHING OUT OF THIS WORLD).. Thank you to all
go to the vitamin section at the store, get a bottle of 3mg melatonin for sleep, take a pill an hour before you plan to go to bed, if you arent tired at bedtime, take another, works wonders and you dont wake up groggy, hope this helps
im pretty sure tramadol is a $4 generic Rx! check it out...you shouldnt be going CT off that!
Yes ! Tonic water has quinine in it which helps those crazy legs. It's much cheaper to purchase than the otc Hylands and has the same ingredient.
Really...get on the phone and try to get that rx. It will feel awful because you weren't ready to do this. So much is mental but Ultram is a real "bad boy" so I know you can't feel very well right now.
Tramahater is in the city with her daughter today so I don't know when she'll be back on.
Post back and yes...force those fluids !!
V.
Hopefully tramahater will be on. She will be able to talk with you about the ultram better than me. I would still call your doctor and explain what has happened and maybe he can help. Call the pharmacy also. There has to be something you can do for this, i hope. As for right now, make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids. Take warm baths if you are achy. Keep talking with us and we will help you all we can.......sara
Vicki....isnt there some certain water you drink that has that one thing in it??!! I cant remember squat this morning!!! LOL
Hi~ Is it possible you can pay cash for the Ultram? It really should be tapered down or
you WILL feel awful. And that's where you are now...Can it be changed to a generic
which would be cheaper?
Trying to help...post back~
Vicki
Yes, lost insurance....the company my husband previously had was changed, to a $4000 co/pay, and the company pays the first $2000. However we do not have the economic means (I lost my job) to pay these type of upfront costs..I just need some advice on how to cope or something /anything that will get me through this. It is very scary, because it doesn't feel like you are in control of your own thoughts (i.e., wanting to jump off of some large/or small building)...I would never do this, but the withdrawals are UNBEARABLE!
Did you lose your insurance? I just reread your thread.......
Why were the scripts cancelled? I know that the Ultram needs to be tapered down. Is there anyway you can get ahold of your doctor and talk with him about this?
