Vicodependant

has anyone used ativan to help with the vicodan withdrawals?. I'm afraid it will lead to another addiction. I went from an oxcycontin addiction , which i kicked cold turkey,( actually with the help of ativan) to a vicodin addiction. I'm struggling to break. i have real pain issues and i need to be able to take something. can anyone suggest a way to take my meds responsibly?

ativan is good so far for stepping off opiates. just dont replicate the behavior seems to be the key. i only take em if i really cant sleep.

I am not sure but i amd taking ativan with the vicodin to sleep at nite and in am when i get up it helps with the anxiety from the vicidon.I am not a doc but for short with drawl of vic i certainly would take it I know people that are given valium to help with no sleep and agitation, and even some nausea ,and anxiety. So as long as you dont take it for long term should be good .I have been on ativan for 4 years  so i would have to withdrw from it but That can be tolerated much better than narcotics ......2-3 weeks small does 0.5 mg.you shouldbe fine exceed 2 mg a day might be harder talk to your doctor valium and ativan are same family benzodiazapines ..I hope this helps .
