Can anyone help me?

I am 36 weeks pregnant am prescribed norco for back problems. When I first found out I was pregnant I was on dilaudid and took methadone a few times. My ob was not crazy over that idea and put me on oxycontin. I was on 20 mg twice a day and have tapered all the way down to norco. (I started tapering at three months pregnant) I made the mistake of smoking weed a couple times as well as taking a couple methadone pills at 5 months pregnant when my script ran out. I felt extremely guilty for going against dr. orders and did not do it again. I am now finding out that they test your baby's poop. Does anyone know if it will show up and what they will do if and when t does? I am terrified they will take my daughter and I could not bear that. Also does anyone know if my daughter will have withdraws from the norco? (I am on 3-4 a day. On monday I will go down to 2 a night to be able to sleep) Please guys, I don't need to be bashed. I am scared enough. Someone be real and give me some level headed input. Thanks

If you keep taking any kind of pills it will show up in your baby and can cause withdrawals with your baby too. But if your doctor is prescribing it and she signs off on it that you were taking it for a medical reason then they shouldnt take your child away. At that point they will also know to know to keep an eye out for withdrawal symptoms in your baby and treat her/him for it if needed. what is worrying me is that you are taking other meds (methadone pills) and smoking weed. I know the dr isnt prescribing that so I would stop any and all things that arent prescribed for you. Those other things CAN get your child taken away. In fact I have a friend who smoked weed during her pregnancy and when she gave birth she tested positive for it of course and now she has to go to drug classes 4 times a week and take drug tests in order to keep her child. So get your s*** together and only take what is prescribed and how it is prescribed and you should be fine. Good luck and as a mother think of your child first!

Be completely honest with your doctor about what you have taken and smoked.  That way there is no surprises when the baby is born.  sara
