need help! 6wks pregnant addicted to pain meds need to taper off no dr will help?

I'm 6wks pregnant, I am addicted to perk 30s.3 or 4 aday.I want to find a dr to prescribe them the right way,taper down slowly,concidering withdrawl c/t is horrible for the baby! No dr in my area will help. I have been thro the methadone w/ my last kid, will not go thro that again! Im early in pregnancy that I can taper. I live near Allentown pa and need help! Please if anyone knows any drs that have tapered pregnant women off them please let me know who to call. And everyone seems to blow me off,recommend me to someone else who doesn't want to help me. Everyday I am risking withdrawal if I don't have the money! Why won't anyone help me?????

Hi everyone..got little news..looked online like yous said to do and found some info out..please help look into them for me and see what u can find, if there's anything I missed..I'm gana call them tomorrow morning..these r the places I found so far..

Drew Garber-OBGYN Allentown pa, 610-402-1600-says he has 4.7 ratings out of 5 and deals with all aspects of pregnancy including addictions.
If u have time and want to help more by looking into some info and the ratings just so I feel better about who to call..ill check back all throughout the night to see ur comments..also need to know about how much it'll cost til I file for insurance..thanx to all!!! Xoxox

Aww Teri! I am soo sorry to hear that. :.( just heart breaking! I thought the same thing, there has to be a dr, maybe high risk doctor? Stacymama- google high risk OBGYN Dr in your area.

Don't just stop ur meds CT when pregnant, I did that & lost a baby!..was to scared to tell the Dr & didn't want to be taking anything while pregnant, so I just stopped CT.& lost the baby at almost 4 months...there has 2 be a Dr somewhere 2 help u...I've heard staying on a low dose of methadone thru out is the best for u & baby!...best of luck!  xxoo :))

Not a doctor, but if you're going through withdrawals,so is you're unborn baby.My baby's mother was on methadone while she was pregnant and the doctors said it wasn't safe to come off methadone while pregnant-And 30 mgs percs I wouldn't think that would be safe to come off of while pregnant.But like I said I'm no doctor!Like someone said just keep searching for the perfect answer.Good Luck!

I'm sorry but, I don't feel comfortable giving medical advice because I'm not a doctor or nurse. However, their are lots of incredible people on here who are in the medical field or they have more knowledge than I do when it comes to our addiction. Neways, I'm sorry to hear that no doctors want to help you. Maybe u can google doctors that can help you around your location? Please, keep checking your post. It's slow right now.
