I stumbled across this forum afew days ago, posted a stupid question, and now i feel like i have a whole group of friends that really care about me getting clean. You guys are like a gift from God. This forum and all the people that have written me have helped me get to my 4th day.Thanks for giving me a place to be honest, because no one around me really knows whole truth. Im telling friends and family that ive got the flu or something. Ive been so ashamed or embaressed about how many pills ive been takeing a day, and for how long, i couldnt talk about it with anyone. I know i can be honest here and no one will judge. For the first time, in a long time, i feel like im not so screwed up. Thanks to everyone for there help. Im off to face day 4.

Never even touched the computer until one desperate night a few days into my detox,and I felt like I just couldn't do it another day.I got on the computer and I found this wonderful place with all these caring supportive people,and that was over 9 months ago.Very rarely does a day go by that I don't come here to try and give back what so many people here gave to me in my hour of need,Helping others helps me just as much,you'll find that out.Congrats on your clean time...hang in there and keep posting.All the best...Kim

The really important thing is that you got to day 4 and you are still good to go.....and you always have tremendous support on this site thats a lot like uncoditional love.  People did this for us. You wouldnt recognize the names because they all went back to real lives after they paid their dues. But we remember........and now we do it for other peoples as a way of giving back - - - - You keep it up and soon you will be an inspriing success story for really new people ........................................

I too was all alone in my detox, and don't think I could have done it without this forum.

I recommend you stick around for a long time, as after care & support will be needed.

good job on 4 days clean....we are all addicticts just like you in different stages of recovery.  we all share a common goal, to  get clean and stay that way.   we support each others recover and encourage each other when things get rough.

When you are so lost in your addiction and no one who truly knows you and cares about you knows of that addiction, its so overwhelming to find a place where everyone has been in your shoes and wants nothing more then to support you and to see you get clean. We are all here to help as we have all gotten that same help from someone here.Good luck to you.
