Your right!! Ive done it both ways now and I prefer it this way to C/T. Although the other day I cut down too much and literally poo'd my undies walking home from the shops aargh! Like my counsellor said "**** happens" hahahahaha
Thanks, my drug counsellor is pretty happy with where Im at. I was doing 15 - 18 500/30 p/forte and am now down to 5!! so I guess thats better and I plan to not be on anymore by another 2 weeks. She was a great counsellor who provided hypnotheray that really kept the cravings at bay.
Hi There,
I've done both tapers and C/T with codeine from approx. 450mg.
WIth the tapers you will feel like you have a minor cold with ache & pains for the whole time, where as the C/T you feel like death for 2-3 days and then it will slowly get better each day after that, you will feel a lot better after 7 days and much much better each few days after that.
It's kind of up to you and what you need to do. If you have tapered down it will be easier to just off than earlier.
Keep us updated on your progress.
Since we don't know where you started with your taper, it's hard to say what I'd do. You did say you were down to less than half of where you were. If I were in your shoes, this is what I was thinking as I read your post. See drug counselor FIRST. Share and get feed back on your taper. You will feel lots better after your appt......fear of unknown will be less.
SECOND....I'd get some help anywhere possible for your two youngins.
You can do it whether weaning or ct, but it would take some pressure off of you to focus on yourself for a few days (or even help for PARTS of days).
Lastly, I simply could not wean down anymore once I reached a certain point. My body was just in a strung out process of w/drawal and I decided to stop putting anything IN me so it would ALL start coming out!
I simply will take the stupid pills if they are in my house! I knew that about myself once I got down to a certain number of pills per day. You're gonna live thru the nasties.....you will......but the more prepared you are in every way will insure your success! After the nasties comes the goodies! Let us know how you're doing!!
Blessings to you~
tapering always works better to lessen the severity of withdrawals symptoms. Don't be impatient. Keep tapering. The body needs time to get used to the new dosage (some say 4-5 days after each drop). The slower the better to keep your body happy and being able to keep up with the kids.
