I don't think anyone on here is going to tell you it's ok to smoke weed and I doubt it will help with bipolar. I don't think weed is that bad, but it can come with it's own problems also. I have smoked many a joint, lol but this is a drug forum and can't tell you it's ok. A lot of people here smoke or so I have heard, lol.

Believer,
My opinion is you're playing with fire with this one.   I would go to my family physician and get whatever medications will help you with your issue.  You never know how a drug will affect you and it's just safer to have a professional help you.  Irregardless, good luck and I pray you find peace.

hi, believer, i have smoked quite a lot ( hash and maría-weed) and i wouldn't advise it to you  in a million years time much more as you say you are bi polar. i only say this because i know that weed and hash made me spent some quite paranoid times in my life  so .... i do not see  how it could help but the opposite. But i'm not expert and there is a very good bipolar forum here  with really nice and caring people there who could help you much better ( i know because i read them from time to time .. ) good luck :)

With bi poloar disorder with worst thing you can do is self medicate .Plz stick to the medications prescribed to you by your doctors if they are not working for you then let your doctor know so they can readjust or change medications.

well, are you trying to self medicate the your manic phases of your cycle? thats common, but can end up being a great threat by producing a physical addiction and ileagle behavior, unless you live in a country where pot is leagle
are you taking meds for your b-p? psychotropic medications do not work well with street drugs
""A less well-known consequence of daily, repeated marijuana use is a withdrawal syndrome, characterized by a time-dependent constellation of symptoms: irritability, anxiety, marijuana craving, decreased quality and quantity of sleep, and decreased food intake""
someone who is already experiencing a mood disorder will most likley have trouble dealing with these side effects
put it this way, you already live with a disease where you can become very depressed, once the "high" goes away the coming down part is going to exagerate your depression, and may put you in a place that you can not get out of
