Starting day 5 opiate withdrawal

Well, I am still here! I am cautiously optimistic! I do feel a little, and I mean a little better! My feet seem fine now! I've been taking my blood pressure and it has been a little high, like this morning it was 134/89! So my question is this normal?? I'm usually lower! Also I did get a few hours of good sleep! 3 hours at one time! I was happy about that! I still feel generally crummy but starting to see the light! Is that possible? I read my other post and want to thank everyone who replied! All the usual suspects: Waz, Pat, Dixie, lovely Minn, and the newbies also! You will never know how much you all mean to me! It's so easy to say but I truly am grateful! I'm moving forward!! How are you all?

Today is day 5 for me... things have been getting better....but the leg pain, nausea and vomiting have been terrible! also yesterday I went to the doctor and he did a nasal swab for the flu on me and it came back positive I'm wondering if going through NA withdraws could cause a false positive for the flu or if I could possibly still have the flu along with the with draws?? Any help is appreciated thank you so much !!

Hey Justin-

This is a very old thread. To ask advice and get support go to the top right hand side of the page and click on Ask A Question. That way you can get advice from all of us.
And to answer your question- YES it will set you back. You gotta get rid of all the pills because you will have moments of weakness. You don't want to go through this again!

Our situation is hardly comparable but I tell ya.. I'm still shaking and losing LOTS of weight. :-( 20lbs in the last week! I'm day 11 CT 75mch Fentanyl, oxy, and methadone. I'm still in anxiety, RLS and a bunch more crap.. Truth is last night was the first time I slept since I took that EVIL patch off... So im envious of you. If its becoming a problem don't wait till you are going to have to experience the worst withdrawal there is... Be careful! Stay strong!! People care here it seems like. It's got me through hell on eart. I prayed for death many times te past 11 days and was most desperate last night. I thought I only had 8 days or something but my wife told me its been 11!!! Wow. When u are forced awake with agony for THAT long... Omg. Whew!!! Glad I got some sleep. U got this! U can!

Oh, and I had the weight loss too. I am 5'8" and this baby didn't have much back to begin with! Your appetite will come back, in the meantime eat things that are easy on the tummy and the Boost and Ensure drinks are great.

Hugs,
Minn

Ugh, Stinky Detox Room. All those toxins that came out smell horrid! Just think that crud was in our bodies! Excellent advice, get up and move around. Break each chore down into smaller tasks with breaks in between. You'll get some things done and have gotten a bit of exercise too. You will probably rest better this evening with the clean linens (bonus).
Also, Sonrissa, quit pulling a Minn and thinking too much. ;)

Hugs,
Minn

Honey...you're exiting a train wreck. But you see some light, right? Go read your post from day 3. How do you compare today? As you may recall on day 7 I did not have the strength to attend a business event. I worked myself into such a frenzy that day over not being able to go (especially since I was hosting it). But they survived and so did I. Every day you will feel stronger and stronger. But I will tell you, if you lay around all day, it will take longer. I recall a doctor telling me when my mom was recovering from a serious injury for every day she stayed in bed it would take 3 days to regain that strength. Walk around the block. Push. Eat a little more. I "nosh" all day. Your body needs some energy and that comes in the form of feeding it! Try to do one simple thing. I remember finally doing laundry since all my pjs really should have been burned after hell week. Doing laundry was a good accomplishment for me. Changing linens on my bed. Then I would need to rest. I am so freaking proud of who you are and where your life is headed!

Feeling just so, so! That's good, right? Not to good, not to bad! I actually wrote out my household bills and my hand for the first time in the last few days wasn't shaking badly! I'm still worried that the worst is still to come! I can't get over the feeling of looking over my shoulder to see the Mack Truck still pounding down on me! I really want to believe that the worst of the physical symptoms is over but I'm still scared! I'm hanging in! Hope you all are too!

Hey, I believe you're beginning to emerge to the other side! I'm glad your feet are better. It is normal for your blood pressure to be elevated a bit while going through this. It should level back out soon. Keep an eye on it, though, but I believe you'll be fine.

Welcome to Day 5, and the first day of the rest of your life! :D

Hugs,
Minn
