drug addiction from age 12-14

My girlfriend (who is 18 right now) told me that she took drugs when she was 12-14.  This entailed to marijuana every day, LSD every weekend, heroin twice a week (by inhalation, not injection), and crack every other week.  She's completely clean now, but I'm extremely worried about any problems/symptoms that may occur later on in life.  She has some problems with short-term memory (along with a very small aggression problem, but she can control it), but that's all that I notice.  Do I need to worry about problems manifesting later on?

She told me she was at a party last night where a lot of people were smoking pot, and she had a craving to get high (first time since she quit).  She didn't smoke pot, but had to smoke 2 cigarettes in order to alleviate the craving (i condone cigarettes too, but i'd rather she smoke cigz than pot).

Also, she hasn't told a doctor about it since whenever a doctor asks her whether or not she has taken drugs, one of her parents were in the room, so she said no.

Getting high from 12 to 14 usually means family or personal problems going on.. On top of taking the above suggestions maybe she would benefit from counseling and work out what had kept her there for 2 yrs. I did and it was very beneficial to my understanding of why I choose that path.. I wish you both well in your future. lesa

I would suggest that she stay away from partys that she knows what will be there!  It will be way too tempting and one of these times, she will give in.  She needs to change friends and stay far away from the past!  That is just my suggestion to you and to her,  Good Luck!!!
