depression After Norco Withdrawl

Hello,I have been lurking reading on here and never posted.I must say that alot of you on here have helped me make it through many a long night of anxiety and withdrawl. Thankyou so much.

I was on Norco 7.5 @up to 8 a day......YUCK! Makes me feel sick thinking back on it.

I decided to quit Sunday the 16th .Cold turkey....not good.
I couldnt do it so I eventually tapered and now a week clean..it is the 26th today.

I dont crave what so ever,,and actually the thought of popping a Norco makes me sick.
I dont have any physical withdrawls anymore.
I do feel VERY depressed and feel as though I am in a mental prison.
I dont know if this is from stopping the norco or what.
I hope it goes away soon.
I also just found out I am prego so is it like the perfect storm of chemicals and hormones off balance??

Thanks for Listening...I will so lightly take a prescribed drug again in my life;;xoxoxo
also..anxiety creeping in too,,,ugh

Hey congrats on a week clean your off to a great start....as for your depression it fairly common coming off narcotics your brain isent getting it daily dose of endorphins
it takes a wile for the natural ones to build up again that and all your brain chemistry is messed up your serotonin is ether to high or to low in you case with depression to low  your noeaprnefrine is off as well as your dopamine thats why you cant sleep it takes a few weeks for all this to turn around and like Brian said it can take a month for some symptoms just hang in there your on then mend nows the time to figure out how your going to battle the mental mindscrew time to look at some form of aftercare...good luck with your recovery and God bless,,,,Gnarly

You're doing great! I felt much better after a week but took about 30 days to be completely back to normal. Anxiety and insomnia are the two things that held on til the 30 day mark. I did have some mild depression also but it went away around the two week mark.

Hang in there. You will get back to your old self. It just takes time.

Congrats on a week clean! That's great!

Depression is very common for some after withdrawals. I'm not sure if you have read about P.A.W.S. on here or not but you should read up on it. There's some info about it in the health pages which can be found in the upper right hand side of the page. You can also find information throughout the internet. I think once you read about it you will understand why you are feeling the way you are. There are some that are prescribed an antidepressant for a few months to help with the depression. You should at least set up an appointment with your doctor so you can talk about it.

If you have any questions after reading about P.A.W.S. be sure to post back.

Best of luck!

Brian
