If you could only give 1 piece of advice to someone who is struggling with addiction what would that be??

If you were told you can only give one piece of advice or encouragment to someone who is struggling with addiction, wether it be someone going threw withdrawls or craving or just someone coming to terms that they are addicted, what would you say??

I would chose to say...........
We all have those off days here and there where you feel down and yucky but the way I look at it is that everyone, even those who are not addicts, have off days. Its just another reminder that we are just one step closer to returning back to a normal way of life. So stay strong..tomorrow will be better!!

Like others, there is so many things to say, For one, It does get better, the best thing is not having to count how many everyday, and not have to lay in bed when i can't find any, and tell kids mommy is not feeling well...Another big one for me is when you truly have pain level 10 , and your tolerence is so high, that nothing helps, and once you suffer through that experience, well it is enough to say this has to stop!!
great post

Its okay to ask for help, and receive help.  You don't have to do this alone.

like dominosarah had siad that this tough because a million thigns could be said on addiction..but one long sentence i would start off with is....Looking at youre addiction dont you want to end the absolutely vicous cycle you have played with youre life once and for all, once stopping it can only get better and beleive me it does, no matter how hard it seems or how much you feel like dying it will get better and if youre storng enough you can stay clean and sober forever and really get to enjoy life the way it is intended to be..good luck and if youre looking for more advice or have any questions or concerns ask away, im always here for anyone who needs ANYTHING...

This is a hard question as there are so many things to say.  I would tell them that the greatest gift they can give themselves is to be clean, stay true to yoursef and stay strong.

It is better to have a bad day off of drugs than a good day controlled by them.
