try suboxone it really helped me. I went from 20 loracets to just 0 with the sub. its pricey but it saved my life well worth the price.
Thank you all for the suggestions. Today is my first day back to work and I'm a very nervous because at work it was my routine to get through the day with a pills. I didn't sleep much last night so I'm tired and that is usually a trigger. I do not have any therapy plan just my husband and dad. I don't really want my kids to know. I have never been real religious but do believe in a higher power and the serenity prayer has gotten me through so I will make it my mantra. I want this very bad so I will start my day with a positive attitude. These posts have been so helpful more so that anything. Just reading what others have went through and succeded. It gives me hope. Thank you all.
Hi..keep your taper going and set a schedule, especially at work. If your down to 1.5 pills, I recommend you stay there for a few days..maybe 3-4. You can cut the pills in half or quarters and set a time schedule, i.e. every 6 hours, etc. Doing so will take the edge off work, keep you on your taper schedule and keep you on track to continue stopping.
Been there & done that...
Good Luck,
its all up to you what you feel is better and easier for YOURSELF to complete and stick with..the last thing you want is to relapse into the old vicious cycle of addiction that controlled you for over five years..i know how it feels being absolutely enslaved to a stupid white pill that gives you pleasure for a few hours, its soo sad...but no matter how much control you think you have or how strong you are, everyone and i mean everyone with that attitude will become an addict..no matter what...you have successfully tapered, congrats on that, down to a very very low dose of a medium potency opioid, so it is your choice to either go CT from here or stick with the 1.5 and then go to 1 then .5 and then 0..i think tapering down even lower is better fo you..youve done a really great job already with the original taper from 14 so stick with what you know you can do...youve come so far...it could have been way worse and it could have destroyed all your relationships and your entire life so be grateful for that but youve gone through the hardest part, since you are starting to work again, i wouldnt want to risk you having a major trigger or a major relapse so i would stick with the taper plan...for the next couple of days stick with the 1 and 1./2 a day and then when you feel comfortable and ready go to 1, and then down to a half and then if you need to for the mental part go down to .25 and then 0...youve done the hardest tapering so you can def. do this....Something that wasnt mentioned in your post was meetigns and therapy...do you ahve a treatment plan or are you going to NA meetings or anything close to that? i dont want to sound like a rpeacher, because i am far from religious and was very very skeptical of the 12 steps of narcotics anonymous, but i found after going that its all up to you, that you decided what type of religion or if you even have that as a part of your recovery..you create your won plan, the meetings are just for you to vent your problems and frustration and listen to others successes and failures..it is extrmely valuable and therapy is a must for every opiate addict..i know both were crucial in my recovery.stay strong and give it your all, i know youll come out of this one..it feels great to truly be able to live your life and enjoy it., if you have any questions, want to vent, or have anything else let me know anytime-christos
I am six days clean with a big habit. I will answer what I can but others will be along shortly to help. I am just a newbie at all this.
