Wish list for tramadol withdrawal

by reelite, Sep 25, 2007 12:47PM
I just got off the phone with my doctor.  He told me to send in a list of what I want to take so that I can quit the tramadol.  I have tried to and tried to taper and I just feel like I need to stop.  When I get down to a certain point, something always comes up and I take more to (fill in the reason here).

From what I have gathered, I am going to ask for the following.

Lorazapam (or valium)for anxiety and sleeplessness
Loperamide (immodium) for the runs
Sumatriptan (tylenol or advil) for headache
Dextromethorphan (Robotussin) for pain and restless legs

Is that about right?  Is there anything else or a different combination that anyone knows of that would be better?

Thanks in advance....

He also mentioned clonodine.  So maybe that too....

Def get the Clonodine....it is a must have. And also ask for Requip (Restless legs) or Carbidopa (resltessl legs. The carbidopa, for me, eliminated ALL restless legs.

Good Luck...

Thanks guys.....I sent in the list and it will be called in tomorrow.  Will keep you posted.

--When I called my ortho to try and get help, they laughed and said "tramadol is not addictive, it's a anti-inflammatory!"

sigh.

My family doc is the one trying to help me.  He thought we could do a taper and called in enough to taper down from 6 a day over the next three months.  That meant 200 pills being called in.

I'm just not strong enough, and I called him and told him that.  So now we try this way.  Husband is going to take a few days off to be with me so that I won't be home alone.

Let's see how it goes.
