Withdrawal Help from Oxycontin

Hi everyone - background:  I have been taking anywhere from 80mg - 120 mg of Oxycontin per day for 4 months.  I stopped cold turkey 52 hours ago.  So far I have had some cravings.  A little bit of insomnia.  I have been drinking a lot of milkshakes and Starbucks frappes.  What does everyone think - will I start to have w/ds soon?  any thought as to why I haven't had more symptoms?  I have gone thru w/d in the past and had a lot more symptoms.

Any help would be appreciated.

I wish I could remember where I got the milkshake info from. I am almost positive that I read it in an article.  A legitimate source.  Today I had 2 large frappes and one medium milkshake, one cup of hersheys kisses and some fritos and I am doing great. I have Clonidine but haven't needed it.  I do take the Clonidine at night along with Doxepin (a sleeping pill).  I have been thru w/d about 10 times but have never done the milkshake/choc./frappe "diet" before and this is the least amount of symptoms I have ever had.  I have zero depression and I normally get very bad depression (wishing I was dead, urge to do cutting).  I haven't had any of that.

Really ! ;))  That's a new one for me. I wonder if it is the amino acid content in the protein. It must be something. I could not do any caffeine in the first 8-12 days of withdrawal. It would send me into a near panic attack. lol   If it's working though I would keep doing it. ;)

Hi ricart - I have had depression in the past too.  That is why I have been drinking the milkshakes and the Starbucks Frappes.  They really help.  I heard once that depressed patients in hospital are sometimes fed milkshakes to help with the depression.

Don' worry - you will be at 52 hours before you know it.  Thank for your comment and stopping by.  I don't really have any sources so I won't be taking pills any longer.

That is crazy that our use was the same.  I don't know why I am not having any w/d symptoms and it is kinda freaking me out.

i am so jealous of 2 things!!...1. you are 52 hours into it (i am 33) and 2. you arent having any withdrawals.

We have literally the exact same story here....i was using for 4 months about 80-110 mg per day.  I am happy I am at hour 33 but wish i was up with you.  I am not having it as easy as you unfortunately!  Could be worse for me, yes, but it isnt easy.  Good luck, and STAY AWAY! I AM!
