Withdrawal from Eflexor SSRI antidepressant can it take months ?

Hi All

Stupid Dr took me off eflexor that I had been on for eight years and put me an a completely different group call tricyclics' - Dolsulipin. I have been ill ever since and five months on waking up with too much adrenalin leading to
the run's and I am woken up by palpitations, alright in the day feeling good today. But my question is how long does this last I am staying with my mum and brother which I am eternally grateful for but I just want to get back to normal. All this effects my confidence and is very frightening, I am in a support group who motivate me and keep me
going they specialise in this field. They say this is not unusual but would like to share with someone who understands what these SSRI's do to people !!!!

Hi Thanks for reply !!
I am in a support group for people with tranquilliser and anti-depressant addiction and they say this is not too long because I was changed onto a completely different
group of anti-depressants.
I am seeing a private Dr who said I may be sensitive to the dolsulipin will see how things go, eflexor is ok it you stay in the SSRI group it only takes another week to kick in. But Dolsulipin - tricyclics work on a different part of the brain.

Have you spoken with the doctor and told him what is going on?

Why did he take you off of the Effexor?  Was it not working for you anymore?  After 5 months, it would be long gone out of your system.  I would say you have a problem with the Dolsulipin.  I would definitely talk to your doctor and tell him what it;s doing to you.  My daughter has MS and she has been on Effexor several times and had no problem stopping it.
