I personally think if u are asking if u are addicted ur brain might be trying to tell u something- I took pills for years taking less than I was supposed to before it got out of control. Just be careful and remember that eventually those arent going to work for u anymore thats where the trouble starts!!
I think you are "addictated" but not in the same way most of the people on here are. I would describe you as being "dependent" on the pills and thats okay. Unfortunately chronic pain is hard to live with and no one should live in pain. You have not abused your prescription and have nothing to worry about..Just keep taking the recommended dosage and you will be fine. You have nothing to be ashamed about and don't let anyone make you bad for wanting to feel good.
Thank you so much for your quick and honest replies.I am concerened about it because this is a life time illness.I am struggling with the pain at the moment but trying very hard to keep the painkillers down. I will be seeing my neuro in the next few weeks and hopefully she can help me. I will be starting some new meds which should help with the pain.
I would love to take more painkillers, because they take away the pain and it makes you feel good. I am very aware of this and it scares me.Some days I say to myself, you have put up with the pain long enought, take more,(nasty voice in my head) but I have an 8yr old son , which stops me .For now...
I have the greatest respect and admiration for all of you who are trying to stop.I can not possible imagne what it is like, but latley have had a "taste" of it.
So, for today, instead of thinking about myself,Im going to think of all of you and offer my prayers amd good thoughs for you. Thanks again for the responses. Cath278
you are not taking a dangerous amount just be aware they are addicting I am sure your body is probably already dependant on it

you were asking if you may be addicted? well with my experience it is when you start uping your dose that you are surely addicted. if you stop taking it for a bit, your body will build up a tolerance and it will work better.
if you can stand the pain it would be wise to walk away from the drug. it does have an opiate in it and that is always t r o u b l e. believe us!!!!
Paracetamol, Codeine, an antihistimine and caffiene.
From what I've read it is prescribed primarily for tension headaches.
Codeine is an opiate, so I would be careful. You are asking if the dosage your taking is dangerous, but you only said you take one tablet. You neglected to mention how many milligrams each tablet contains.
When you say you would "love to take more tablets".... I get the feeling that you say this because you love the feeling it gives you, and you would love to take more, correct?
Don't do it. To avoid problems, I would ask the doctor if there is a pain killer similar to Syndol without the Codiene. I am willing to bet that the paracetamol, antihistamine and caffiene are what is really working for the pain anyway. The codiene just gives it the added narcotic.
I googled it and saw that it contains codiene and caffine. I don't think you are addicted if you only take one a day, but that is my opinion. My dad was shot through the spine in the war and had to take a percocet every night before bed. This took place for 40 years and if we went on vacation, etc. and he didn't have it, he would substitute with 3 tylenol. I think if you are completely taking it as prescribed and your doctor knows that you are taking it, you aren't addicted, you are taking for survival. But as always this is my own opinion.
Good luck to you

Hi, have never heard of Syndol before. is it an opiate?
about the intercranial hypertiention and temporal arteritis- do the doctors know what causes it? do they give you anything to help cure it?
seems that the doctors only treat the symptoms and of course they never go away unless you treat the cause. and that is how so many are getting addicted to some drugs. you just cannot take a drug forever without it doing some harm.
