Wondering???

This may sound kind of needing and selfish but its not meant to be. I just want to ask whenever i post on here I get one or two answers from people I have reached out to and I have tried answering and reaching out to others but often times I feel ignored is there a reason why? I feel like I get little to no help or support on here I was for a long time taking my time to help others and my questions and updates are just skimmed through and left. I am not trying to sound whinny but its gets a bit lonely and I have no where else to turn. I was just wondering what can I do differently to grab your guys attention and get to know you guys better?

Hi:) I am just starting to post again on medhelp here and there...but now I have different reasons than before....I just switched from my pain meds fentanyl and dilaudid, to suboxone.  I know that suboxone is a little controversial, and I'm taking it now for pain, so I am trying to answer questions very carefully, but I am also taking it because I was not taking my pain meds in a safe way, so my physical dependence for the past almost 5 years definitely was on the fence of addiction for a while, and then went over the fence in a big way the last few months I was on the pain meds.  I am now on suboxone for about 5 weeks, and I don't know how long I'll take it.  I was very fortunate to get into a doctor who is an addiction specialist who also takes a few pain management patients, and since I am both, it's a great fit.  We'll be trying some injections and nerve blocks soon, and if they work, I'll be asking to go lower on the suboxone.  My pain is permanent, but i have a few other medical issues going on, waiting for diagnosis.  Anyway, even though my pain will last forever, and I may have to be on suboxone for a while, I know that I am in a much better and much safer place than when I was on the heavy meds, so I'm ok with it.

I'm here for you anytime and congratulations girl you are totally rocking it.

I have to echo a few of the above comments. If I don't have experience with a med, or a combination of meds, I leave it to the pros to provide help. However, no matter what the DOC, when someone post a milestone (7 days, 30 days, etc) of clean time I'm always there with congrats. Glad you're here.

Hi Kellie,
I am glad you posted and people reached out to you :)
I have not personally taken Subs but i have a very dear friend that is on them also and it has been a godsend for her she was using pills then heroin and it was just escalating  and she decided to take her life back and is on Sub treatment and its going great she is down from 8 mg to 2 mg now and been on them a little over a month now she was going to do 21 days and then gradually taper off by then but decided with help of doctor she needed it longer which I think was a Good choice for her It gave her more time to get therapy going and her goals set and a clear head. I know alot of people feel controversy about subs and I have to admit I did also until I saw what a difference it can make and If used and supervised by Doctor with a plan I think its a great tool.

How long were you using before you went on subs?
i am glad its working for you.
Sounds like you are doing great.
Keep up the good work and reaching out for support.

I understand how you feel, subs and methadone are pretty controversial and not a lot of people have a lot of experience with them. I think everyone has good intentions and cares. The subs saved my life and I am completely chemical free now. I try to support those who are using subs as much as I can. I have been following your story but, I don't see all the posts and, as a man, I can't give any advice about pregnancy(other than be nice to her and give her what she wants, NOW!). I learned that much as a father.  I think you are doing great and will be even better when the subs are gone. None of us are alone, but many of us feel that way at times. I wish I had time and experience to respond to every post that comes on hear. Sometimes I can't see the forest for the trees. I have college class mates, AA members, and friends that I am encouraging in their taper off of subs. I hope you are feeling better. Keep on keepin on.

I am only on day 4 from 15 to 20   10mg vicodin a day habit.  I too am a mother, an addict of 10 years with no one knowing that I took anything but my prescribed 6 a day..........then got busted by the State last week.....forced into w/d as going cold turkey........and this site has honestly saved my life when I did not think I could make it.  In the middle of the night, when your demons are calling you, get up and go to your computer and read all the past posts to you of encouragement.  I reread mine almost every day, every one of them.  It is also a good way to see how your baby steps are adding up.  I took my second walk today...........first time in 7 years girl!  I am here for you and invite you to read my posts if you would like!

Howdy Girlfriend!! You are rocking this taper thing out of the park! Been keeping my eye on you. As you know, I know squat about subs, but I do know where you were and where you are now. So very proud. Please keep posting. even if it is daily. You are helping others that are just starting out. Don't be shy, it seems we need more folks on here that have experience  with a sub taper like you've been doing, Going to send you a pm. So nice to hear from you.

Ya I think sometimes as much as I hate to I have to show more of an outward interest and sometimes I am very shy but of course online it is so much easier to over come that anxiety that i have. I would just love to make some new friends as I do not have many where I am that understand what it is that I am going through and some just plain think I am despicable for allowing myself as a mother to become addicted. It hurts but I have moved on through it and finally found that they were never true friends to me anyways. Oh and its okay but its actually Kellie :) Nice to meet you all!

Thanks everyone I am doing well I am on day 91 and down to 8/2 mgs of suboxone I take a half a day after three months I know that suboxone was for me as I could not handle mentally free falling from taking around 10-15, 50mg tramadol and around 10-15 Loritab 5s a day. I am very lucky I am alive and allowed to have another chance at life honestly. I know what other people consider sub to be and its okay to me everyone thinks differently but I guess I was a very heavy user and was on the brink of taking even more pills because my tolerance was always rising. Anyways I am just grateful that you guys have answered thank you and how are you guys doing and feeling? I hope as well as I am feel free to msg me anytime I would like that!

Hi Kelly...I also tend to post on topics I have experience with. I also noticed that you were posting in the pregnancy forum...were you getting the same amount of responses there?

Sometimes I post and only get 1-2 replies, sometimes more. I wouldn't take it personal.

Congrats on your path of recovery seems like you are doing great and have a positive attitude :)

Hi kell...

I read almost every post...I try to comment on ones that I have experience with. That way I feel good about what I'm saying because I been through it....

Sub...i think thats what you said you're on is considered by some and by definition a synthetic opiate.... I have 0 expereince with that stuff...And probaby none of my business.  (said in a nice way)

But if you're in recovery ..you're a friend of mine  ;-)
much support

and congrats !!!!!!!!
