about suboxone?

After reading and researching sub,and learning so much about sub and it's effects here on this board, can someone tell me what are the mental effects from long term use. i ask cause i'm having a devil of a time with my ex. She got married recently and now keeps the kids away from me to the point i had to petition the courts and make her follow the decree. She met this man in Jan and suddenly is married, has been terrible angry at me or nice, at times in the same conversation. What exactly are the mental and emotional consequences of being on sub 32-40 mg's  day for going on 4 years, Thanks Jim

she went on sub after 3 failed rehabs, inpatient. she seemed to do very well for a year or two, then everything with her changed.always depressed etc. she was a major pill taker,25-30 vics a day and at times 250-300 milligrams of oxy chewed and snorted of course, she commented to me a few weeks ago when dropping off the kids,i asked how she is doing on the sub and she said great,i mentioned that maybe it wasnt such a great idea to stay on it and she said her doc said she may be a "lifer" on it. she just is even more impulsive than she used to be, does some very very erratic things, for all i know she may be using again, who knows, Jim

Jim..I'm a little confused by the post..but, I'm assuming that your wife has been on 32-40mg's for 4 years now? Wow, that's a really long time to be on suboxone. I hear horror stories from people trying to get off of that dosage for that long of a time. I guess you're asking is if that dosage for that long can cause erratic behavior? I don't know if anyone can answer that. I don't know if long term studies have even addressed that much sub for that long. If anyone knows, FLaddict will. She should be on sometime today and will answer for you I'm sure. What was the reason your ex went on the sub in the first place?

I am new here but I can tell you that suboxone or subutex is an opiate but not even 1ooth as bad going off longterm  because it is a partial agonist. It fills the opiate receptor but in a different way so when it is not there, you do not freak and your receptors are not screaming for some.
The worst you will see is yawning and eyes watering for one to two days and maybe  just in the morning when you wake.
You will for sure get your toilet loosened up so get some imodium but take only enough to work because constipation will give you headaches.
You should not be on 4-8mg after the first week. You should be on 3 -8mg a day for however long until you want to stop. Then you start tapering by dropping your weekly consumption by 4mg each week.
