Introduction

Hello!  I have known about this site for awhile.  My best friend is Amaryllis1974.  She, as many of you know, has found an outlet within these pages to express her struggles and accomplishments while "doing the deal".  This is attractive to me as an addict in recovery, so... here I am.  My story is not unique.  I am not any better or worse than the addict with one day of reprieve or the addict in recovery with many collective days won.  I am just me.  Somewhere along the last year and some months, I have discovered this and developed a sense of being right sized.  I am no longer an ego maniac with an inferiority complex.  The desire to use has left me, and for that, I am completely grateful.  I remember what it is like to live and feel comfortable in the depths of despair.  This is what helps me to continue on the path of enlightenment that HP has gracefully put me on.  I am not perfect and often fall short of the expectations I often put on myself.   The program of Narcotics Anonymous has taught me that I am enough and that where I am at any time is right where I am supposed to be.  I love each and every addict... that means you!  You are enough... you inspire me... it's time to embrace your true destiny and awaken to a new you!

Hi Fuzzy here!

What a lovely message,

I have never heard of Narcotics annon.

Where I'm from a junkie is a junkie slang for addict. People think no your not a junkie. I call myself if I must be pigeon hold a functioning junkie. Some how society sees me as an acceptable junky cos I don't buy from street, I clean my house and volunteer. Its a shame the world thinks like that. There is no help over hear Doctors and pharmacists don't know enough about it. One doctor told me to grin and bear it well I did. Day 16 now clean. Its like oh its just painkillers, sorry am on a rant.

Well done !!!! What a beautiful message.

I can see how your flowered friend would marvel at your expressiveness and why she would choose you to team with her.

An "ego maniac with an inferiority complex" just might describe many here who struggle to keep it between the lines.

Your abandoned desire to use will give many of us hope that this can be accomplished.

My depths of despair lost both of the figurative AND literal comfort a long time ago, the exact reason I find myself "here".

Very nicely written, I look forward to a map to that Path.
