anyone know anything about treatment? or detoxing without suboxone? oxycontin

ok i really want to get clean. Suboxone is only replacing the addcition. I want something that's clean and fresh. its so hard finding state funded inpatient treatment. i just want these withdrawals to be gone and be healthy. i really wanna move forward in my life and get over all of this. start a new chapter. i was thinking about maybe detoxing myself. I mean if i went to treatment, they'd clean out my system...right? so does anybody know exactly what they do. could i do it at home? please help me i want to get clean now! :)

I may end up in rehab but i hate to give in after I am down to such a low dose of methadone...but I am so tired of feeling like this.   The DR's are not vey helpful at all, last time I was in they told me I had a virus, and I bought it because it sounded better than w/d's.

I will see, i am fighting to stay home.

i just got out of a detox after a long *** methadown and heroin run, in detox they gave us clonidine its to lower your blood pressure, and they gave me Librium and some other miner stuff the kick wasnt as bad as i usually go through, it did take 2wks and im still not 100% but ill  take 75%.  but be careful when you stand up to quick, in detox  on the way to the pool i stood up to quick and feel out for about 10 seconds.GOOD LUCK

Oxycontin withdrawl is hell.I am so angry with myself right now.I was a former garbage head.LIked to do alot of heroin, drink, and mix it up with coke and speed.I ended up in the pen behind a drug deal gone bad for almost 5 yrs of my life.I tild myself i would never do any of that hsit again and i havent, however i hurt my back then got vics and fell in love with them till i ate oxys and it has been a 2.yr run and i gave of 8 yrs clean time, I made myself run out yesterday, last one at 430 pm and i have to tell you i feel like hsit. The last 3 or 4 days i cut myself short too on my usaul  160 mgs by way of 40 oxy I usaully ate 1 with coffee 4 times a day .I have  agreat job going on 9 years and i took a 5 days off to do this.I still have 50 SUbs from tryig this a year ago. I went 2 weeks and then i started back on the oxys with a vengenace from my Dr.gor my back, My back is better but im not. I wish i had the luxury of a nice detox. I dont, ihave people who depend on me, and i wouold rather do this now on my terms than on someone elses someday and i miss being clean.I miss lots of things,i love how i do and dont feel on oxys. They allow me to function, but without them i dont function i suffer badly.I hope i can use the subs for about 3 to 4 weeks and get thru the worst of this and suffer alittle more after.I dont think i could handle antoher full on detox again.im too old for that hsti.it has been along time but i did it at least 10 times from heroin and once from a 30 day Meth detox. This ***** but im truly determined to make this happern and get back to the buisness of living correctly. I hope whatever you do you are successful at it. It is so easy to get weak, my biggset mistake was taking that 1st vicodin and then eating another again after how it made me feel, Good luck and keep posting..

We aren't supposed to give out advice like this, but I have to say this, if you DO get on Sub, PLEASE think about it seriously. It CAN be used JUST for a quick detox. I've been on it for 3 yrs and its been hell getting off, thats why I said think about it. As far as just quiting, you need to ask a doc. I am in school for substance abuse counseling and have detoxed off heroin, other opiates many times. I've not heard of someone dying coming off a PURE opiate detox but things do happen. You could try weaning down, but that is like a monkey selling bananas! Not many addicts have success weaning down, but you may be different. They will probably more then likely detox you with Sub if you go into detox as that is now the BIG detox choice for opiates, and it works. But theres a LOT to think about when it comes to being on it long term.
And last but not least, there is NO way AROUND w/d, we must go THRU them. There are somethings that a person can do at home to help with the w/d if your doing it ct. PM me and I can shed some light onto that. Clonodine helps but your blood pressure can get dangerously low so there can be complications being at home by yourself on clonidine. My suggestion would be to go to detox personally and let them help you. There are many other options to detox then Sub, but if you chose Sub then thats your choice. Whatever you do, we are here to help!!! Get to a doc and let us know how it goes!

THE ONLY WAY I KNOW TO GET CLEAN IS TREAT THE W/DS AND DEAL WITH IT FOR A WEEK....I KNOW THATS NOT FUN, BUT IT DOES END AND YOU CAN BE CLEAN AND FRESH WITH YOUR NEW START.  YOU CAN DO IT...
