4th day clean..

I feel 90% better today! Thank God... What's the odds of relapse? 0% with me. I don't wish that on anybody! I heard depression is next? That's a bummer...

Congratulations on your clean time. I go to meetings also, and the support is great. You will get great support at meetings and meet new clean and sober friends. Keep up the good work, stay positive. Life is great being clean.

Congrats on day 4 my friend....Gnarly said it right- you can take away the drugs but you'll still think like an addict ...you're right you don't have to relapse just make sure you have some support lined up when you start feeling better. Keep posting....remember, it's all about the journey, not the destination. You're doing great :)

Yay for you.......that is So great to hear!  Don't fret about the depression thing.  Some people have it more than others, some are barely affected by it . . . thinking positive about it will help a lot.  If it does become a problem for you there are things you can do to help.  In fact, there are things you can do now to help prevent it from coming on.  Exercise is HUGE....natural endorphins will go a long, long way in battling the depressive thoughts.  Even if you start real slow, i.e., short walks.  Eating healthy foods and drinking a lot of water, take a multi-vitamin and try to maintain (as much as possible - I know it's hard now) a regular sleep routine.  Also - the supplement 5HTP can help a lot.  I started with 300mg per day; now down to 100mg.  It HAS helped me.  Also make sure you are getting enough vitamin D!

If you try all these things and still are battling with it talk to your doctor.  But for now just enjoy and celebrate this accomplishment - you did it and you are over the hump - 90% is 100% better than you were a week ago still on the pills.  Don't over think it - you are doing GREAT!  Congratulations and keep it up :)

Glad you are feeling much better!   We get out of the physical withdraws and rejoice at how much better we finally feel better and then some depression sets in.  It's just your mind resetting itself.  We have depleted it for so long and relied on a pill to make it operate right.  Some people have a really hard time with the depression, others not so much.  The first time I detoxed I felt pretty good after the initial physical stuff, then as the days settled in, I wondered if this was it?  That caused me to relapse.  I know in your heart you don't plan to relapse...just keep your guard up.  I told myself that if not once, but a hundred times.  This is a darn right sneaky disease.
