Headache when first starting Suboxone is normal. It's called a Bup Headache. Ibuprofen will get rid of it.
You can also try cutting back on your Sub dose, check with your Sub Doctor. You didn't say how many mgs of Sub you are taking.
Remember Suboxone is also very addictive, and must be tapered off of. So if you don't want to get into another addiction situation, read everything you can about Sub. On the good side, Suboxone has saved many of our lives.
Good luck to you.
I am considering LDN as an option for me as I am afraid of sub or any other route. I think I will order it and see if perhaps I can treat myself. I know that most would go the Dr. routine but I am pretty tired of going to them, after all I am suposed to be under a Pain Management Dr., who just wants to keep me on 6/ 7.5mg a day Lortab. I am a chronic pain patient who detoxed in February, and I do not intend to go back on opiates. So, I guess I am up a creek unless I try ldn to see if it will help me round out the pain along with the cravings that still come around to haunt!! Best wishes to you!

PS- WAY TO GO with flushing the oxy.. that is a HUGE step!
I was on suboxone for over 2 years. Headache is a VERY common side effect of suboxone. I had the worst migraines the first week or two..The severity of the headaches will ease up after your body adjusts. I still got mild headaches an hour or so after my sub dose, pretty much throughout the whole time I took it.. but very mild compared to the beginning.. IMO the headache is not withdrawal its the suboxone. 2 advil and 1 tylenol sinus worked well for me (if you are able to take that stuff)...Sub headaches su*ck. My sub doctor said its very common though and listed as a side effect.. Good luck in your journey and its great you are taking steps toward being drug free.
I was averaging 16 to 22 10/625 oxy a day this pasy year. i have been hooked since a 2004 minor surgery. This pat weak i finally came clan with my wife and i think that is what made me finally get help. i know what your going through. before you know it 20 a day isnt going to be enough. eventually it is going to swallow you whole. believe it or not this website has helped me. not even posting but just reading. anything i can do to help just ask. go to a doc tomorrow and get sub. i think it really is working. just in case it didnt i kept a bottle of 100 10/625 in my trunck of my car. i feel so much better that i just flushed the whole thing. $900 worth but is well worth it
I don't know very much about suboxone, but to generalize, if I'm stuck on oxys, I find that extra-strength Advil does the trick for headaches. Might work for you. I took 2 the first time, but one works most of the time, like magic.
You say 20 a day -- what strength? And how much sub are you taking? Your situation sounds a lot like that of, um, er, a friend of mine, but without the sub, and the information would be very useful to my, ahhh, you know, (coughs) friend.
Let us know if the Advil works. The manufacturer's website has everything (check "contraindications") you ever need to know about the drug, and there are a few "drug interaction" sites as well.
Good luck.
