I had a serious bowel removal from my military service. I subsequently lost 14 feet of small bowel without having been told. I've been suffering bowel pain and cramping and was recently diagnosed with a rare condition called Shlerosing mesenteritis, very rare.
I was in the hospital for about a week. I was sent home with 360 5mg oxycodone tabs. It is now a month later and last night I suffered withdrawal symptoms. I never have before. I took my last dose, which was the final dose on Saturday mid day?? Sunday night, last night, I started having withdrawal symptoms and couldn't sleep, I was pacing from my bedroom to my couch back and forth since I couldn't sleep. it was horrible. However, today being mid-day monday, I feel alot better. I do feel extremely lethargic, tired but alot better. I think the worst is past me. I think I'm out of the woods. One NEVER thinks about the withdrawals when they start. I'm to the point of either never taking opiods all together or simply doing a strict regiment in the future if I do, of say the typical ER prescription of 20 tabs and dealing with this that way. I never want to go through this ever again.
because of the short bowel issue, I have my normal diahhrea back which I'd rather have than this. the withdrawals start with anxiety or inability to sleep and the urge to pace around. After officially 2 days of my final dosage, I seem to be doing alot better. the first 24 hours are crucial. Since I'm the sole provider with my VA disability pay, I just gutted it out and I seem alot better now.
