My wife's doctor similarly will not prescribe Clonidine..whereas I went to the ER a while back and they were happy to give it to me as was my doctor (refill).

Thank you all, I am going to the store to get some things from the Thomas recipe.  Keep me in your prayers, and wish me luck.

I didn't even think of beta blockers. I've taken Inderal before but not during withdrawals. I still think self medicating with BP meds is a bad idea. Can you imagine someone with normal-low BP taking a .2mg clonidine tab? Not a great idea. The wd's won't kill ya, but doing that will.

I think my husband takes Norvast or something like that.  I get so confused because of the medications that it is hard to think straight sometimes.

Thanks

I think Tenorim or atenotol(sp?) may help.  They give it for stage fright and anxiety. What does your husband have that you could take?  My hubby is a nurse and i can ask him, if you want.

My doctor won't prescribe them to me because my blood pressure is not high, and when I told him why I needed them, he just said sorry.  I am starting tomorrow to go c/t.  I was tappering, but the pain kept me wanting more.  I now have flexiril for the back and neck pain, which helps and now need to stop taking Loratabs.  I know it is going to be hard, but I have to try and do this for me and my sanity.

NOOOOO....self medicating with a BP med is dangerous. From all the stuff I've read, clonidine is the only one that works anyway. I can attest to that...I am on HCTZ and Enalapril for high BP..but, clonidine is the only one that works. Why don't you have access to it?

Clonidine. It is a prescribed med. Ask your doctor.
