Tapering off tramadol- confused

Hi all,
So, I'm down to 1 tramadol a day- cut down to 1 from 1.5  3 days ago.  But today I been having what seems like w/d!.....my legs hurt, I can't eat, sweating all last night.  Could this be from tapering down from 1 1/2 trams to 1?  I never experience any other w/d while tapering.  Can't seem to figure out if I'm just getting sick or going crazy or what.

Also, if I stay at 1 tram for the next week, the go cold turkey, how terrible will the w/d be?  Part of me thinks I'm just prolonging my suffering.  The problem is I'm in professional school and work (can't taked time off- no matter what especially until January) .  Would I be better off just going down to 1/2....1/4 then off?

Oh man.  I don't post much but reading all you guy's posts and how much so many of you accomplished makes me feel there's some hope....

Thanks for all your responses!  I'm actually feeling better tonite.  I'm just sooo excited to get this thing done.

Vic: I never thought about it, but I guess I was feeling worse the first 2-3 days....my recovering drug scattered brain just didn't connect it :-)

I can't wait to be able to post and say I'm down to zero....but for now I feel like falling asleep.

cutting from 1 1/2 to 1 tab is like a 33% cut so what you're feeling is ok and normal...nothing to worry about and it does get better! For me day 2 & 3 were always the worse before it got better, but day 4 and five it would level off and get better.

I finally jumped from 1 tab per day after doinf a slow but methodical taper of almost 6 months.  The final jump was anti-climatic as it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be (again...a 6 month taper) but rather it was the sleep thingy that was the biggest hassle at that point...anxiety levels were somewhat elevated but not near as bad as it was occasionally during the tapering process.

So you're doing fine and keep up the Good Fight as it WILL get better...trust me on that as I'm only about 2 weeks  away from 6 months clean time and all had returned back to normal several months ago!

yup it sure can be .I would stay at 1 for at least 10 days if not 14 .Then down to a 1/2 of two weeks then 1/4 (if you want ) or jump at a half.

yes go down to half or less fast and then get off. The longer you stay on it the harder no matter the dose.
