caffeine and nicotine

Good day all....... i'm off methadone for 2 weeks now... but i find that everytime i have a cup of coffee i begin to shake!!? and cigarettes make me spin out and feel weird .... is this normal?? of course the answer is not to take either... but when your as low as i have been its nice to have a little vice.

Also, still got aches and pains, headaches come and go, now and again i have 10 - 15 minutes spells where i feel like i have taken something mind bending!! still cant sleep, surely after 2 weeks this should all be coming to an end... its driving me mental.

Anyone else suffer these effects after this long??

Yeah, I suffered all that my first time. It wasn't until into the third week I started to feel "better"...a relative term. You might want to avoid the cig's and caffeine, it can make you feel worse when you're like this. Usually does.

I'm going to ask Fladdict to re-post her amino acid post for after treatment.

If you decide to try a benzo for sleep, just be careful. I used a rule that I didn't take them more than two days in a row, and never more than ten days in a month. You should be at a point where you are able to start sleeping a few hours a night soon. So taking them can help. Before two weeks, it's sort of a waste.

Are you taking clonidine? It will help alot with what your suffering.

methadone makes you suffer far longer than say percocet or vicodin. So yes, two weeks is still reasonable to feel this way.
