can't sleep? please try melatonin!!

If anyone is having trouble sleeping during withdrawals, or even longer after that (48 days for me), Melatonin really has been a miracle for me! If you haven't tried it yet, I strongly recommend it. Not sure if I recommend taking 9mgs, like I do sometimes, start with 3mg or 6mg and see if that works for you. Thank god someone suggested it to me, I don't think I would've had any rest for the last 48 days without it. thank you melatonin!!!!! :) hope everyone is well!!

I just need to remind one and all to go slowly !   Don't cut back at night ! wait till you have been cutting back during the day !  Be patient ....   even if you took 6 months to a year of gradually reducing Zanax . Who cares ?
You've done it stress free .  I love melatona and always
use it for traveling but some times a anti- hystamine tablet. Just a store  brand will do !  The kind for sniffles that says may make you drowsy ! I take1 or 2 occasionally and youllbe on your way to sleepy time

Did I understand you to say that you went off Xanax. cold turkey ?   Lordy,
do not ever do that !   After years of taking Xanax. I went to my shrink and asked for help to detox pain free .  He made a plan for me and ever so gradually he eliminated Zanax . It took months but worked !   Do you have a doctor who will work with you ?

Very Important about Melatonin.........Do No buy the OTC tablets......for some they work well for , but for those who they don't .....Gnc sell a sublingual tab.  3mgs knocks me on my bootay.......I took mega mgs. of the Riteaid tablets and they did nothing.  And take them within a half hour before bed.....considering they take 10-15 mins to dissolve under de tongue.......they work......

I'm pretty sure that Melatonin is perfectly safe to take with Sub, although double check with your doc first for sure.

I've heard such wonderful things about Melatonin from so many people (of course there are some that it didn't work for unfortunately).  I think it is a great thing to try to help with the insomnia.  I am an insomniac by nature....but I've cured that for now and found the perfect remedy.....

hopefully the doctor will help :) I'm sure if you're on sub. you'll probably be able to sleep. check with your doctor about the melatonin and suboxone, I don't know much about sub. thought about doing it, and decided against it. best wishes to you!!

I see her on Monday that is when hopefully she will put me on the suboxone.... So I don't withdraw that bad ... someone once put down klonopine helps to withdraw from xanax but to me that is substituting 1 benzo for another and that is what I do not want to do ... I guess maybe that could be the same case with the Norco and the suboxone but I can not go CT I think I would end up at the ER worst case...But I am going to take the advice on the melatonin I have 2 bottles I am just worried cause last time I was going through the withdraws I went 3 nights with no sleep OMG so awful I thought I was going to pull my hair out...

My doctors are tapering me off xanax by .25mgs a week. I started at 2mg (sounds like what you take?) and I'm taking 1.75mgs until tomorrow I go down to 1.5mgs. I know the melatonin will help you, take 3-6mgs at first if you really have sleeping issue (I do). I only take .75mgs of xanax at night with it. The other 1mg of xanax I take during the day. Have you talked to your doctor about tapering xanax? It is too fast to do 1mg at once. .25mgs at a time is best from what I know. I hope you sleep well, I'm usually here if you have any other questions.

So tell me how you are tapering because i have not a clue on how and every night I try taking just 1mg I end up taking the 2 cause I feel like I can't get over my anxiety and I can't sleep and that causes more anxiety the merry go round every night it is the same thing...but tonight I will take the melatonin with 1mg of xanax .... I am clueless thanks for the info...:)

I take it with the xanax that I'm tapering off of right now. so yes, my doctor said its okay to take together. xanax is a horrible drug, I'm sorry you have to go through this with both vicodin and xanax. Good luck to you, and definitely try the melatonin, it works great!! :)

I am getting off Norco's and Xanex my dr is putting me on suboxone(probably not spelled right) I can't do this on my own .. I went to buy some melatonin to see if it will help me sleep can I take that and 1/2 a xanex together. I tried doing the cold turkey and I thought my mind was leaving me it was the most horrible thing I ever felt plus I have to hold down a 8-5 job and a 13 yr old ... Do you just take the melatonin by it's self ..... I am going around in circles and getting nowhere..
