I took clondine also for the vicodan withdrawal - they helped but the dry mouth was unbearable... I went to Physhe doc and he gave me klonopin.. much better
I also smoke
good luck
I would NOT take any other blood pressure meds for this.. Clondine has been used for decades for withdrawals.. i would not supplement just any med for this.. if you really want it go to the ER or a urgent care center if you regular doc won't prescribe it..
Also i am a smoker and i took clondine. don't think that matters.. you just don't want to take it if you don't have hypertension.. it will make your BP too low
depends on what you were using and how long...I was using 7.5 vics..at the most 8-9 a day for 3 years (ramped up to that level over that period). I was lucky as I started clonidine on day one and felt horrible that day before the clonidine and felt quite a bit better after taking it..I never really had it too bad, thankfully. The clonidine made me sluggish and lethargic (and dry mouthed) but I never really had the horrible symptoms.
3-4 can be bad, but hang in there because the day will come soon..maybe by day 7 or 8 and you'll say "hey...I feel pretty darned good today!" and you're on your way.

thanx for the reply. I was asking b-cuz i have other blood pressure pills and dont know if i should take them. Im on day 2 and dont feel too bad yet. Is this normal?
I am so scared of day 3 and 4 i hear its supposed to be bad. I am staying with mom and dont want to be here longer than i have to. was hoping to go at the end of weekend on day 6. what do u think?
Clonidine is the only one i've come across that has shown to help with withdrawl. I also read some place that it has also been used to help people quit smoking! Probably the dry mouth side effect.
I'm using clonidine (ramping down on it) and smoke and have had no problems. I even have a pacemaker and no problems
