cough syrup

my husband is addicted to cough syrups. he's overweight, has high blood pressure,had neuphrotic syndrome when he was a child,and is epileptic patient. but he still consumes cough syrup. how can i make him stop. what are the dangers. please haelp me iam very worried coz i have a 5 yr old son also.

What kind of cough syrup?  The only thing to do to help him is to confront him and tell him your worried and that he needs to get help.

That is scary! I do not know how to make him stop but I am here should you need someone to talk to! I know it can be very dangerous. Like the teens that take Coricidin... its scary.  I accidently took too much once and it scared me to death... the Dextromethorphan hydrobromide is very dangerous and is found in most cough syrups. But like any other addiction he has to want to help himself. If you need to talk I am here... sorry I do not have any other information to help.
