Lmao..That was cute ariley13.
I too think you did good. It takes so much work and I mean WORK to keep on changing our Bad Behaviors. Redirecting ones self from ANY Triggers is what we must do. Very proud of You!!
Listen real closely to those readings they read before they open them meetings up for discussion. Lots of info will stick out and stick close, as you go further & further into working your Recovery.
I want a Pedicure!!!..How nice that must have been and so uplifting too for your self confidence. Just keep on moving forward!
Bless
I totally agree with Vickie on this one. Replacing bad behavior with a new and positive behavior is the way to go. You are doing great and deserve a reward for all of your hard work. Now, if the shopping gets out of control and you start buying shoes instead of paying bills, we might have to have an intervention for you! ;) Until then, treat yourself and enjoy your new found freedom.
You handled that craving incident perfectly! You replaced the old behavior with a more positive action that won't hurt you AND you have something to show for it! Well done!
Don't listen to that negativity. If you are like me, I bought all my stuff and it was VERY expensive. Like a house note and a half expensive. So, using your money on something BENEFICIAL to get you through this tough transition is absolutely fine! I got new tattoos and bought a Harley. The tats helped take my mind off the pain & the riding helps ease tension a ton (crazy but it does). I'm just saying do what you have to do to keep straight. You got this.
I'm not trading one for the other I needed sandals to get my pedicure cuz I forgot mine and had only sneakers believe me I don't have a shopping problem if anything I have a FOOD problem lol but I'm workin on that one too
Everytime I get extreme cravings I work out
So r u trading addiction from pills to shopping. U know it doesn't matter what addictive behavior it is. Still a basic drug. Whether legal or not to say. Just a thought!
Can't tell you how many times shoe shopping has saved me. From depression, anxiety, hopelessness...My mom and I have a slogan
"When life gets tough, go shoe shopping" I own 73 pairs of shoes!!!! Seriously, I have two closets dedicated to them (:
xo
Your doing great.
